    Alan Cawley signs for UCD

How did sean let him slip through? UCD, surely he would of been better off at rovers.

I think he wanted to stay in Dublin so UCD were probably the only Dublin club interested.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

Nope. Used to, but we kept getting hammered, so we revoked the rule around '82 (and subsequently won the Cup, came sixth and fourth in the league, nearly beat Everton and went broke). We try to keep the squad now as students or ex-students. But "students" are just people we sign and pay their scholarship, not just anyone who comes through the CAO.

He played one league game against Shamrock Rovers in Mahon's first game in charge, I think. Didn't feature afterwards outside the League Cup - mustn't've made the grade in the end. Though I thought he was a handy enough player.

I've still to see this signing actually confirmed anywhere.
