bell x1 an allright album if you dont have the one before that its a carbon copy of .
Totally agree. Crap year for music. Just a rehash of indie and post punk guitar pop from decades ago. Wedding Present, Fall, The Jam anyone!!Originally Posted by anto1208
Oh for a bit of originality. Can't even think of one good album from this year!
Well Mylo - Destroy Rock N Roll (appropriately enough)

Okay you start a new thread entitled 'anto1208 album of the year'(should be interesting)Originally Posted by anto1208

RE Bloc Party: Seems to me people either love them or hate them.
I love listening to them on campus and writing their name on my retro bag![]()
Damo had two(anto1208 and jorge) although it wouldnt be my preference. FF were in because it was one of the big albums of the year (similarly Coldplay, Anthony and the Johnsons, Kaiser Chiefs) but I'll consider replacing it with KT Tunstall. I didnt know she is taken seriously as an artist, I personally wouldnt be a fan at all.Originally Posted by ticktok
Reviewed list to follow, further nominations welcome.
Poll added as requested by Beavis. Only 10 options are allowed so that's all I added.

Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
m.i.a.'s "arular"
edan's "beauty and the beat"
sunn's "black one"
..and quite possibly jackie-o motherf*cker's "flags of the sacred harp" which i ain't listened to all of but the bits i've heard have been very good
Super Furry Animals - Lovekraft
Its just a brilliant album from start to finish.
Limerick 37, its so shiny and new we dare not take the cover off.
caribou just opened for them on tour so i'm gonna post an honourable mention to their "milk of human kindness" here so i am so i am, thanks nemptonOriginally Posted by Nempton

I know there's an 'other' option.
But that final list is far from a list of the best albums of the year.
Cork City: Making 'Dream Team' seem realistic since 2007.
Bloc Party (Silent Alarm), Arcade Fire (Funeral), White Stripes (Get Behind Me Satan), Gorillaz (Demon Days), SFA (Love Kraft)...
'Fascists dress in black and go round telling people what to do, where as priests.....'
[QUOTE=Dublin12]Thunder and Consilation ain't too bad every now and then. Was at Reading in 92 as well don't remember seeing them there though. Thought they were one of the best live bands I ever saw even with all those clogs trying to trample you underneath!!Originally Posted by rebs23
BTW I think we're just showing our age now, best leave this thread to all the students.

Can't believe that The Go! Team haven't been mentioned!
Anto-you have the Babyshambles album in your list...and before you say anything, i bought it, and i loved the Libs, but it's a tad sh1tty.
That's the trouble with music though, everyone's opinion is massively differentOriginally Posted by tiktok

Voted for Kasabian but me thinks that was a 2004 Release.
The Magic Numbers & Arcade Fire are two very worthy choices. Also thought Goralliaz Demon Days was very Good
Goldfrapp Supernature would be one I would also add to list. That I havn't seen mentioned yet
