Council vote paves way for Croker opening
The Central Council of the GAA has rubberstamped the opening of Croke Park to others sports for the duration of the redevelopment work at Lansdowne Road, with soccer and rugby authorities requested to furnish the GAA with a fixture list by January 2007.
The historic first soccer and rugby internationals at the Jones’s Road venue are then expected to take place in early 2007, with Six Nations rugby and European Championship qualifiers to move across the Liffey.
