Already included that in my orignal post but......
If you include Zayed, 2 seasons in the 1st his record is 16 goals per season on average, and McHugh's average over the past 3 seasons is 18 goals per season, also 2 seasons in the 1st division.
I know they haven't been Premier for the last 3 seasons, but what are the averages of Zayed and McHugh?

How does that translate into a goals per game ratio though? would perhaps be a truer reflection on value if some players aren't playing as regularly as others. Byrne played nine games more than Crowe this season for example(43 vs 34), Farren played 31 and I've no idea of McHugh. If Crowe and Farren had played the same number of games as Byrne, they'd have had 15 and 23 goals respectively.

As far as I'm aware, Zé Roberto went back to Airdrie United. If I'm mistaken could someone correct please!!Roo69 wrote;
Also, i was just looking at the lists of scorers there, Mark Robrts was with Shels, what ever happened to him ?
Who Cares?!
Aside from kevin doyle there is not many ex eircom league players proving themselves abroad. until players show that they are value for money transfer fees out of ireland will stay low so i think there is no way that shels would be able to command 1million for wes houlihan. i would be very surprised if the j byrne fee passes 500k.

Wes is a whole different ball game. Shels should know he is worth a 7 figure sum and shouldn't sell him for less. Unless the clubs financial future depends on it.Originally Posted by Ceirtlis

Hoolihan is ****. Seriously. Far too small for any decent league. He's a LOI player for life. Great deal for Shels on the Jay Byrne deal. Just shows how much Dolan f***ed over Cork even more with the Doyle dealings....

Rofl. I'd be delighted if he was a LOI player for life, he seems to score great goals against your crowd every single time we play you! His size is pretty much irrelevant, its not as if you have to big big to play on the wing.Originally Posted by Dodge

I think his lack of real pace is more of a setback than his lack of height
There seems to be a distinct lack of knowledge of basic economic theory here![]()
A players value is the price at which someone is willing to pay for him and what his current club is willing to sell him for.
There's a reason why six figure transfer fees are relatively rare in the EL and its got a lot to do with the standard of the players.
And E1m for Hoolihan?! Have his European performances against top class opposition consistently been that good?
If Doyle continues to prove himself and Byrne and Darryl Murphy make a name for themselves, look for transfer fees to go up.
But for every Doyle or Curtis Fleming there's been at least 10 other EL export failures.
Like Mullet said about Byrne earlier, Weso is worth as much as it would cost Shels to replace him with a better player.
Shelbourne are a football club, not a profit making business. Their only motivation in selling a player is to improve their team.

Well he was man-of-the-match by many peoples accounts against Deportivo so that should say a lot.Originally Posted by OneRedArmy

"They made an intial offer of €400,000 and we went back to them and told them that they would have to up their offer. They haven't come back to us as yet and the longer it goes on the less likely it is that it will happen. We're not going to let Jason go for small money, particulary as we'll lose a good proportion of it to Bray because of the sell-on clause."Originally Posted by Raheny Red

At least they got the right attitude in dealing with this! Bad move for him imo, EL is improving and its gonna give shels and bray a major boost to sign a few good players!Originally Posted by MrJoeSoap
