Shels trio banned for season opener

Shelbourne’s hopes of making a flying start to the Premier Division next season have been dealt a blow with the news that they will be without three players for the first game of the 2006 campaign.

Shels, champions in 2003 and 2004, were the most in-form side in the eircom League over the final two months of the 2005 season, but were never able to recover the ground lost in an early season dip.

Manager Pat Fenlon will be without captain Owen Heary, central defender Dave Rogers and winger Ollie Cahill for the first game next time around.
Cahill and Rogers both passed the four-penalty point threshold, while Heary collected his eighth booking of 2005 before the end of the season; all three will serve one-game bans in the spring.

Hopefully Harris will be back from injury so can slot in for Rogers.

That's 3 quarters of the defence. Get some cover in for Heary and if we sign Dillon, we will be alright.

Rogers is out so no use picking him.

If you wouldnt pick Crawley for left full then who would you put in there? Crawley is a decent player and I have no worries with him playing there, not a whole lot of teams with players like Crawley ready to come in to the back four. Give him a break
