Seems like a strange signing on our part.
Can't see him getting into centre mid ahead of Ndo, Crawford, Stewie, Weso, Reynolds, Chambers, Moore, etc.
He looked dodgy at left-back last Sunday and we've enough dodgy left fulls at it is. Centre-half ahead of Hawkins, Rogers, Harris? I'd think not
I'm sure Nutsy has signed him as versatile cover for a few positions now that our temporary stop-gap Fleming has gone (both full back slots, central midfield etc...). He looked very shaky last Sunday and it didn't really fill me with confidence.
Nutsy has also said he is after another defender, although agreeing a fee may be a stumbling block. Taking it that there will be a fee involved, it will be interesting to see where this defender fits in (surely it must be as cover?).
The sports team from my area is superior to the sports team from your area.
Agreed ... it has to be just for cover.Originally Posted by sfc red

He's a better left back than Crawley IMO, and on a par with Reynolds in what he does, still can't see him slotting into your midfield anymore often than he slotted into ours.
It'll be interesting to see what he has to say on the matter himself, has to be a move for cash, he can't claim he has a better chance of playing with Shels than he did at CCFC.
He'll get some reception from us next time we play you.

He must obviously be getting more money to be cover in Dublin than cover in Cork.Originally Posted by A face
He put in some excellent performances in the middle of the park in the games Joe missed. Saddened to see one of our players leave for Dublin.

Nutsy has to go for a settled 11 and not start chopping and changing all season. Fair enough we got O'Halloran but if he keeps playing different players in different positions next season I think its going to cost us
Greg has his critics & i used to be one but hes matures in recent years, Always gave 100% for city this season but don't know if he be motivated for Shels as much especially if sitting on the bench a lot.
We not only have 3 playesr for central midfield so whether its our lose or your gain depends on who we replace him with. If we get quality foreign signing with Gregs wages City fans won't complain.
Any news on Davy Tyrell? Heard about 5 or 6 different stories bout whats happening with him. Any Shels fans know for certain?Originally Posted by sfc red

Doubt it, there's not actually as much money at Shelbourne as some people seem to think...Originally Posted by tiktok
Do you think there's another reason??? Favourites for the league next year (according to some online bookies), finally found our best 11, great prospects, been furthest in Europe, this is not an anti-anyone rant, but if you really think about it, do you think that could be the reason???
Sitting pretty!!!
He was offered a contract with us, and is very highly regarded. Would be very suprised to see him in anything other than red next season.Originally Posted by Hulsey
As for O'Hallaron, if he is taking Clinton Flemmings role in the side it's not too bad a deal, ie primarily cover for Heary but can slot in to various positions as injuries/suspensions dictacte. If he's signed on good money and been told he'll be playing more than not it'd baffling really.
Greg is and always have been a big City fan DR so the only reason he'd leave would be that he'd been offered a lot more money.Originally Posted by Drumcondra Red
He's a good player and a nice fella. I'm sorry to see him leave City and certainly won't give him any stick but no doubt certain sections of our support will.
