    Bennett gets Cup final go-ahead


    Cork City's appeal regarding the one game suspension that would have kept Alan Bennett out of the FAI Cup final has been successful.
    The FAI today announced that they would uphold the appeal lodged by Cork City after Bennett's booking against Waterford United was in fact a case of mistaken identity.
    An earlier appeal to the eircom League was unsuccessful.

    The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
