Playing for a team that finishes 7th and concedes 57 league goals (more than any other team) is unlikely to get you a place on the Team of the Year.

Now run along and play on the DART line.

If it wasn't for McCourts brilliance we could have won the league! Remember home V Shamrock Rovers? The best performance I have seen by an opposing eircom league player at the Brandywell. On top form there isn't a team in the country that could cope with him. We should all be greatful that he'll be gracing this league for a few more years to come. I expect him to be even better next season with the aid of a rest and a good pre seasson behind him.

Joe Gamble is good fair enough but just as good and exactly the same type of player that Barry Molloy is for us.

English is supposed to be your language in the UK how about learning to read.

Mcourt became buddies with two teams this year so had about 30 votes there...... thats the vote winner. Ask the players.

Roddy said Motherwell were sniffing, is that where you got your info. so goes to show doesn't it Honest Shoddy Roddy, a man of his word and his morals are so high, just ask bohs staff........

McCourt won because of his flowing locks, they all thought he was a burd because if Derry think he is brilliant it really shows very very little respect to the Derry players who bust their balls last year for you. McCourt didn't..... he wasn't even there at the begininning

Good god if McCourt is as good as it get for Derry even at u21 well the Trophy won't need a passport for years to come.

How was it corrupt? Did they not count some players' votes? Did they poison Damian Richardson? The Cork hurling fans are at the same thing.....never happy.

We didn't change for anyone, thats why were the best (oh and the football, point I could go on)

I now know what a "langer" is after reading that crap above.

You cannot vote for anyone in your own team for a start. And the usual old "UK" crap raises it's ugly head.FYI the Irish president is also from the "UK" too, or do you only recognise the border when Derry City are involved?

I think McCourt stood out when he played for Rover as as given licence to pass the ball & run at the opposition. Under Kenny at the Brandywell he found it hard to fit into the team as wasn't hitting balls through to farren quickly enough & didn't fit into defensive wide midfielder tactics.

Why would it need a passport. Dual citizenship but of course because you are an insensitive idiot you wouldn't know about things like that.

I find it highly amusing that some of you just can't admit that the players in the League rated two non-Cork players tops.

It wasn't a fix, it wasn't a anti-Cork statement, they just rated Farren and McCourt better and more worthy of the award.

Gamble wasn't going to win it as combative midfielders rarely stand out and Georgie's diving antics and gamesmanship clearly take away from his undoubted skills on the ball.

The more ridiculous the excuses you come up with, the stupider some of you look. Dricky, take a bow.

MOD Edit : Unfound accusation on another forum carries no weight on foot.ie

If it's really us City fans that bring up politics then look back at the thread and see which club's supporters first brought up politics.

The managers picked the team of the year so I can't imagine a wile pile of collusion going on there.

If Derry had won the league the last thing to bother me would be these awards, but hey, maybe I'm just not greedy. However due to Derry not winning the league I am delighted that some of the players have been shown recognition when it seemed they were being ignored all season for praise from anywhere outside of Derry.

On an aside, Peadar, you managed to insult fans of 4 different clubs (about their clubs) in this thread that has to be admired, well done. You're a credit to Cork.

You all up there have a fixation about anti cork, we just feel there are better players in the league than McCourt, just as there was a much better team hammered you to take the title.

My issue is McCourt because I've seen him both at rovers and Derrry play sometimes but most of the time he just stands there his lock flowing in the wind.

You have really shown yourselves up here, I haven't said that a Cork Player should get it but then you think its an anti Derry thing, I can think of no other reason why, what is it? are you in an iternet cafe and it cost you more than your 50p allowance to get on line so you only have time to pick bits out and make up the rest?

If thats the case we are sorry for you, in fact we'll do a collection in Cork for you so you might have enough time to read the posts.

I'm sure we could find some money around the shed, it more than likely fell out of our pockets a while back while we were dancing and singing. what was that occasion again????

OneRedArmy fool. you can't even see that I gave Farren his due. what other words can I use that won't be blanked out. There just must be a better education system down here or maybe only fools from derry get to use the internet (that part doubt)

Speranza take your slagging, it's been going on for yeears means nothing and has been great craig. It just appears now Derry were beaten the slagging has to stop.

NOt a hope in hell, we have bragging rights, we get to say when it stops!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peadar your a naughty boy ...4 different clubs and we were grooming you to be the next kofi Annan

What is a credit to to Cork it the eircom league title!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear lord, Dricky you're bumming up the free state education system - gone take a wee read over your post again.

Well done on winning the league, I thought this was a thread on 'teams of the year' though. Cork were adequately covered in these - any comments on this?
