Well what has he done is ... . He has been shown that he cant run the length of a football pitch, his techincal ability is limited to his one peg and spends most of his time looking for a pass. He still sulks and moans at the ref half the time and looks very ordinary. He has failed to break into a good EPL side and Ive fallen out of favour with the lad.

    Midfield miestro me arse
hes not even fat, just looks stocky and you will see that he can cut it in the premiership

It would be nice for him to be given the chance to play 90 mins. I like Reid as a player and would expect his morale, weight, fitness levels and form to improve with a decent run in the first team.

If I was a spurs fan I'd probably love Jol but as an Ireland fan I'm hoping that they bring back Ardiles.

He can't do it. Ever seen him live at international games? Has good first half & disappears completely after 60 minutes. I am 100% convinced that is due to fitness.

Oh I'm sure it is down to fitness, not playing doesn't help. I just remember his first few games for both Tottenham and Ireland, he looked very lively... at least to begin with.

Leeds continue to be linked with a January loan move for Spurs out-of-favour Republic of Ireland midfielder Andy Reid.

The 23-year-old, who joined Spurs along with Andy Dawson in a combined £8million deal from Nottingham Forest last January, has been consistently linked with the Whites in the past week after losing his place in Martin Jol's first team.
Reid has seen former Leeds man Aaron Lennon, summer signing Jermaine Jenas, Finnish youngster Teemu Tainio and Edgar Davids all picked ahead of him recently and was left out of the squad which travelled to Wigan on Saturday.

Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell was believed to be ready to launch a bid for Reid before last Thursday's loan transfer deadline but nothing materialised and it now seems he will wait another month before renewing his interest.

I agree. I think he is probably the best passer in the irish set up. I am a Spurs fan and I think he has the talent to make it and I would love Jol to play him a bit more often. But he definitely needs to cop himself on and get fit. Forget about whether he looks fat or stocky or whatever, for ireland he has consistently played well in the first half of games and faded in the second half.

I would say it probably comes down to a bad attitude. He was a big thing at forest and now he isnt anymore. Too cocky for his own good, he needs to work on his fitness and he will walk into the spurs and irish teams.

The fact of the matter is that he can run the length of a football pitch.. that might be a bit harsh but after 50 or so minutes is a F A C T

Whatever about weight, Jol said he was one of the fittest players at the club.

Seems like Reidy was dragged out of KFC for the last 5 minutes or so
won a penalty from a useful looking freekick (handball). Spurs scored 2 whilst he was on so that looks OK in the statistics.
Stephen Kelly was on the bench but not used.
Robbie Keane "should have scored" according to Sky Sports subbed off after
    69 mins.

It has taken Keane ages to get another chance in the side, just like it may take Reid a good while but the important thing is that he will get another chance. Spurs are not in a position where they need the money from a potential transfer and its unlikely many clubs could afford the fee they would look to recoup, Reid was 5.5 million of the 8 million they paid for him and Dawson. Only Everton would have the money, around 3 million to sign Reid, i doubt that Villa would part with that kind of cash. Therefore, by a process of elimination, i can see him being at spurs for the forseeable future, which may not be a bad idea, Jol seems to get the best out of people.

Reid is still young & Spurs don't have many left sides players. Hes at best a bench player but could get his game if a few injuries.

Technically i think he should have had 2 assists last night eventhough he didn't intend them.

Robbie Keane will be back on the bench now. He might start next game but needs to score to keep his place.

No offence as_i_say but they're the type of posts best suited to dangerhere. Humour is fine but slagging Andy Reid's weight has gone beyond that at this stage.

On last nights Spurs performance, Andy Reid has a good chance to work his way into that team ie if its a choice between him and Davids. Davids can win the ball, never gives up, but he can't pass a decent ball and kept giving away possesion. As a Left CM, Reid at his confident best could have controlled that side and pinged in the ball.

Seriously this weight slagging is stupid.Leave the guy alone.Dont see any of the posters playing proffesional football.Obviosly his weight isnt really an issue if hes playing in the premiership.Every young player has a tough period.Nearly as bad as the english at slagging our own players.

yea its a bit silly at this stage with the weight thing , saw him last night and looked like he lost some. i dont see any reason why he cant play his way into the side i still rate him very highly

i dont have much time for slagging irish players just for the heck of it. But if they are really over weight it has to be said.

Well done Reidy for the assist. I personally have loads of questions about him and remain unconvinced (from what i seen of him).
