There's never been a minute since I started supporting City that I have stopped- I have no confidence in Liam Murphy and I never will have, but I don't hold that against the players.Originally posted by Pablo
Have you ever considered actually suppoting the team this year?

Could it be that your haterd for Gunther is blinding your judgement? A bit more objectiveness would be in order Id say Eanna.Originally posted by Éanna

Id still want Gunther out even if we won the Champions League
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.
Could be- same way as gunthers complete ignorance and personal vendettas have blinded his judgement and led to many excellent city players leaving the club.Originally posted by Troy.McClure

Well he has brought many excellent players IN to the club! (Credit to where credit's due and all that?!?)Originally posted by Éanna

Anyway, Id say that only 1 of the players that left was actually anygood/championship winner material, and that was Ollie, who was replaced by Billy, so thats not all bad news now is it?![]()

In one whole season, he brought in O'Grady.....................great sigining, but he got rid of too many. Haven't seen any of the others yet, so no comment.Originally posted by Troy.McClure

And Bennet, and O'Flynn, and CPOB, and Mulconroy, (and HartigolOriginally posted by Éanna

And you know yourself the number he has brought in this year. Fair enough about not knowing how good they are, but you know about Billy.
Also, he's been given NO money, so you have to credit the gut with actually signing any players at all, especially ones of the calibour of O'Grady and Woods. He must have some charm in him somewhere!![]()

Brian Lennox is the difference between this season and last. He has a real desire to see Cork City successful. The last mob didn't.Originally posted by Troy.McClure

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasnt Lennox with the last "mob". Infact, he's been there for the last few years! + had a chance to take over after Dunne left which he didnt take. Its not like he's a knight in shining armour ariving to see a wreck and fixing everything in one go. He's a positive thing, but just coz he sits at a different seat for the board meetings doesnt mean that everything (besides the managerOriginally posted by Neil

Lennox seems to be a good force for the club, and I hope he has great success. Let's not think of him as the one and only saviour however, and rest all our fate in him. Let's not put all our chips in the one basket, so to speak(groan!).....![]()
Lennox has complete control over the club at the moment. He can take the club the way he wants, and doesn't have to answer to the Cowboys that were Noel O'Mahoney and Terry Dunne et al.
ahem what about the signing of jimmy mulligan and mick devine (both which cost a pretty penny - circa 30k afaik)..Originally posted by Troy.McClure

i know they were signed by mountfield, ie in the first few weeks he was incharge at city, but gunther was his right-hand man and was behind those signings..
so irrespective of how successful those signings have been _ he has been given money when required

He promoted Carey & Bennet into the 1st team as well as getting O'Grady - all good decisions.
Mulconroy hasn't done much yet & all those returnees from the UK pretty much wanted to play for city whoever in charge.
It also would have been a disaster if they weren't able to convince Woods to play for city instead of commute to dublin for games with a new mamnager & new style of play.
Leenon has to accept his part of the blame for the recent failings of the board including the halftime meeting to sack DM. He seems to talk a good talk but heard some of that before so juries out on him also for now....
i'm trying to be optomistic and i know hartigan has gone but i reckon that without ollie cahill city are going to have their worst season in a long time.
Ollie is a great player, and the last thing I wanted was to see him go, BUT.....Originally posted by eoinh

Ollie was not carrying the team for the whole season. The players that have come in to the club will more than make up for his loss and CCFC will have a much better season than last...C'mon man, don't admit defeat before we start at all......![]()
