So did I, I'm baffled as to why he wasn't kept on. But my point is, Drogheda have money and ultimately title winning aspirations, no? I don't think players like Keddy are what a club with ambition should be looking at.

Had my doubts when I first heard it (as i did with lynch and look how he turned out for us!!). A bit of experience will do us the world of good as we've a young squad and as I said ye know what ye get from him and might've only been bought as a utility player.

Would be disappointed if he bought as a straight swap for jermaine - dont think he was tbh

Drogs needed someone bad to avoid the disappointment of not getting Brennan from Derry

Damo had a cracking season for us the one before last and was super for Droggs this year, Webb is consistantly solid

I rate Webb, but Lynch was an absolute disaster area for Bohs every time I saw him anyway. Worst example being the time he literally just decided to hand Shels a penalty for no reason in Dalymount Park under no pressure at all (Then had the cheek to just claim a goal that wasn't even close to his later on to try and make up for it ).

I thought he was better when in central mid field but at right back he was consistently awful.

Anytime i saw Lynch at Bohs he looked good going forward but a terrible defender. Doolin is wasting good money on fullbacks as its the easiest position on the pitch & they rarely win you games.

Keddy is poor signing for team that spent huge money last season for 4th place.

Drogs might be dangerous next season with their transfer funds but not as long as Doolin making the purchases.

Roche hasn't gone yet according to the Press Conference today that unveiled Pat Scully. Rovers are still in negotiations with him.

And we've signed Aidan Price (new club captain) from Kilkenny and Dave Cassidy, Robbie Clarke, Ray Kenny from Kildare (I think, my knowledge of the 1st Division is not what it could be....yet)

More importantly player of the year Barry Murphy has re-signed as have Woodies and Umbro.

Some decent signings by Scully there, especially Price and Kenny. Price would have had no shortage of suitors in the Premier.

Robbie Clarke is a City reject formerly of Pat's, Dundalk and Kildare, but competent enough at Shams' level.

How much did you enjoy typing that?

BTW I've only just noticed your sig. No problem signing up businesses for next season as you'll see on all the news bulletins this evening.

Aye, so I see. Sig's just a gentle reminder of the critical distance required of club owners. Loose lips sink ships.

I was being facetious about Robbie, he's as good a left-full as you'll find in the First Division, although that really isn't saying much. Fast and athletic, but limited technically. Kenny and Price will form the best centre-half pairing in the division.

As opposed to a certain club owner who rants and raves on the official sites message board........

Touché, you could pass that advice on to Mr. Seery while your at it.

As today's press conference proves (and the last 4 months as a whole) our club is in great hands and Rovers is being run correctly for the first time in my lifetime.

Rocky's fully cognisant of the fact, and actually quite restrained given the amount of grief he gets, although he does lose it sometimes. However, I can tell you by his own admission that, however impelling the visceral temptation to lash out in any given direction, it never pays (particularly where match officials are involved. Ooh, the thought of Rovers being subject to the tender mercies of Derek Tomney and Tony Kelly next year just filled me with a warm glow.)

PS: NY Hoop, haven't you been slapped with a restraining order or something yet? Since I'm in a conciliatory Christmas mood, I made this just for you.

    Restraining order??????

"Filth"? Mmmm. It's an honour to take abuse from a nothing club. Think you're location sums up your club alright.

I tend to grant Rocky a certain latitude because, in an inversion of established procedure at other Dublin clubs, he spends more time actually plotting world domination than boasting about it on the internet.

Yeah, I think your obsession with all things DC is bordering on the indecent at this stage.

Anyway, as much as I'd like to exchange epigrams with humourless boors all evening, I think it's time to restore to this thread its original purpose. As far as I'm aware, Freeman was seeing out his contract at Drogheda and never had intention of returning thence, ditto with Pender and Shels. Failure to retain Lynch is just mystifying.
