Anyway, as much as I'd like to exchange epigrams with humourless boors all evening, I think it's time to restore to this thread its original purpose. As far as I'm aware, Freeman was seeing out his contract at Drogheda and never had intention of returning thence, ditto with Pender and Shels. Failure to retain Lynch is just mystifying.
I'm obsessed??! Oh that is beautiful coming from you

Your club shouldn't be in the league. That is not obsession. And kid if you think I'm a humourless boor you definitely do not know your chairman.

cant believe the bull on this thread about damo lynch. he should have been drogs player of the year this year by a mile. half the people at the awards nearly fell off their chairs when he didnt get it.
scored 6 goals this season from right back (fabio scored 9)
he also saved our asses in about 4 other games we would have lost without him.
why are shels fans talking about doolin and full backs?? we have two of the best in the league. our defence is mean and we scored so few goals that the defence had to win games for us.
anyone with an ounce of football in their brain can see that lynch is a class act and a true pro (ask the cork fans he clapped in lansdown road) and the fans he gives his time to always.he will be drogs captain next season
can wait to see him lifting trophies for us

I'd tend to agree with those who pointed out his time at Bohs - I saw him a few times there (once or twice live and a couple of times on eL weekly) and he was very poor. Always had the feeling he was going to gift the opposition an attack. Maybe he's come on since then, but the criticism while at Bohs seemed justified, in my opinion.

In fairness he was utter pants at Bohs. Never liked playing in front of us, seemed to crap himself every time. I was amazed that Drogheda signed him but he's obviously done well.

He's probably due to throw a strop and walk out on the club soon anyway. Habit of his.

He is sorely missed at Bohs
Agreed he did give us a few heart attacks but the pro's far out weighed the cons, I personally will never forget the saving tackle he made against Rosenborg in the CL when the striker was clean through and lynch got back to make a wonderfully timed tackle. he did many similar things for us over the years

Have to disagree with you there. He was rubbish. One of the many overpaid wasters at the club in the last few years.

Have to agree with Carlin. Lynch was rubbish for us, always out of position, couldn't kick the ball in a straight line and a head like a land-mine. I was glad to see the back of him.

Maybe he has improved at Drogs who am I to judge. But somebody says he scored six goals from full back, that is impressive though I take it that they were all penalties. Contrast with his last season for us where he gave away six penalties.

Looks like I was misinformed too about Fabio as well. When I heard he was signing for Bohs I thought... please, not another Tony "No Goals" Grant. But then during the week I came around to being favour of him signing only to hear he was staying at the Drogs. C'est la vie.

Wheres block G? Didnt he say fabio was definitely going to bohs too - EDIT: just saw his above crawling post

Athlone have resigned Damien Rushe along with Micky Collins and have signed Colin Fortune from Galway.

Looks like we are going the right way with the club and getting a midlands based team together that will play for the jersey with a bit of heart

More good news for us. Danny O'Leary has re-signed for the coming season. Best shot stopper in the division. Stopped us getting mauled in more than a few games
