FBTN, he won't clean us. The days of spending beyond our means are well and truly over. Our development commitee appears to be one of the most active in the country and always have something in the pipeline to raise funds.

How am I whinging. I don't like him simple as. He is the only player I can think of who has shown a clear dislike for us as a club - Fergal Harkin being another possibly. I'm not the only City fan who doesn't like him.

Would you rather I wrote.....Thanks Kevin and welcome to the Branywell, I admire your work attempting to raise minnows to great heights but when you seen that was futile you decided to jump to the big boys in the North and I am glad to see you here

Out of curioisity, how will this move affect his status on Finnside?
"The Derry fans were fantastic in both matches. They sang their hearts out all the time and created an even better atmosphere than the Cup Final. They were brilliant. - David Graham, Gretna striker

It has been rumoured for a while now that Kevin signed some sort of pre contract aggreement with Derry.
I would be very surprised if the man stayed with Harps.

This is only a rumour but I've heard that Derry are not trying to sign McHugh but are trying to sign someone else from Harps.

    Donno who!!!

I would certainly like to see McHugh playing for Derry, a perfect replacement for Murphy.

    yeah fabio's going to bohs
look at his options 1. stay with cup winners as captain of a team and a club really going somewhere ie. UEFA cup, Setanta cup and up the league
    2. join the bohs hasbeen brigade and face possible relegation, where he'll risk non payment of bonuses and the most fickle fans in the el.

fabio joined drogheda united from non league verona when drogs were bottom of division 1.
he has become part of something incredible and is a legend already in this town at 26!
bohs are scum and fabio knows that going there would be a step backwards and something drogs might not forgive him for.
the only question is if he is good enough to lead our line next year.doolin seems o think so since he made him captain but
we are going to bring in some real quality.
anyone at the final on sunday saw his commitment to the dufc. he's goin nowhere

Who? How come there's been no news of any transfers at all?! I would have thought by now that more than Shels would at least have announced who was being released seeing as the regular season ended about three weeks ago and the transfer window has been open since last Thursday.

Eric Lavine has agreed terms to remain on with GUFC, he was previously onloan with United from Longford Town towards the end of last season. The club is in the process of sorting out contracts with several of the players from last season and the club can confirm that Derek O'Brien, David O'Dowd, Alan Gough, Barry Moran and Billy Clery have agreed terms. When further updates are available they will be posted on www.galwayunitedfc.ie.

Stephen Lally has signed right sided player Ryan O'Donnell from Sligo, while Ciaran Foley, also from Sligo Rovers is in talks with United as is Steven Gavin from Athlone Town. Stephen Lally is also in talks with a defender from another club. In the new year the club hope to have on trial a player from Barbados who has played at International level for his country.

    Dundalk's website says they've signed -

    Derek Griffin (Monaghan)
    Alan McDermott (Kildare)
    Austin Skelly (Athlone)
    Rob Dunne (Bray)
    Fiachra McArdle (Athlone)

While they've released Stephen McGuinness, Chris Deans, Mickey O'Kane, Bryan McCrystal, Thomas Morgan, Danny Woods, Martin Smith, David McGeough, Shane Jackson and Alan Murphy. Ger McCarthy is to sign for Dublin City.

    DC have signed -

    Gavin McDonnell (Shamrock Rovers)
    Damien Brennan (Derry)
    Paul Crowley (Waterford)
    Ger McCarthy (Dundalk)

They'll presumably end up signing Aidan Lynch, who was on loan from UCD for most of the season, but nothing confirmed there yet.

Dundalk jumped the gun a bit announcing Derek Griffin's signing. Although he probably will re-join John Gill at Dundalk, he has not signed anything yet.

Can we do the usual In/Out sticky for the close season?

Might be difficult as you can only edit posts one day previously. Any mods want to take this on (think they get extended editing privileges!)

I have to agree with the Sligo boys on O'Dowd. He always gives 100%, and seems to be a nice lad, but running around the place does not a good striker make. He lacks predatory instincts.

Remember GUFC fans, we are signing players that Sligo Rovers dont want.
    Don't lose your excitement !

Maybe it is Revier Williams. He was an international while with us and I rate him as a good player, for the first division anyway.
