Hill Celtic won 3-1 (Noel Noonan broke windows in Garryowen that day he kicked it out of play so many times, but they got what they wanted).

This weekend has helped shape things....madness the amount of teams so close..will go down to wire.....
no it won't...Star and Corbally are more or less promoted.. it will be decided definately before Easter.Originally Posted by Killer Bs

You don't see Herbertstown or Summerville as serious contenders even though Herbertstown are level with Corbally and Summerville would only be a point behind if they win their game in hand ?Originally Posted by HuRya
Corbally are stuttering..depends on who they have to play...guarantee it will go to wire...Agree that Star should romp it but they need the points on the board first...

We started the game without 5 of our regular starting eleven,
They were, Ger Collopy, Leonard O'Grady, Brian O'Doherty, John Barry and Derek Hannon and we were 2-0 up at half time and it could have been 4 or 5.
We had an outfield player in goals, and started with 2 minor players outfield while bringing on another one after 70minutes.
Yes Corbally started the 2nd half with all guns blazing but in all fairness they never really threatened our goal.
They scored a fluke for their first goal on 65minutes, it was a cross that got caught in the wind and went over our (STAND IN) keepers head.
They then scored their 2nd with about 2 mins to go, but we never gave in and went for it in injury time and it was our turn for a bit of luck when one of their defenders tried to clear the ball of the line but the ball deflected of his head and in for the winner.
We are now 4 points behind Corbally with 5 games in hand.

Good results for summerville and star the weekend...We are still in with a good shout!!!
any news on the Hannon/Barry situation?Originally Posted by abbeyvale
after our defeat to summerville at the weekend we can say good luck to promotion for another season. our strikers just simply are not good enough and we suffered a host of missed chances in the first half due to poor finishing from our front two. at the end of first half summerville scored a screamer of a free kick and they were 1 up at half time. The second half was 50 50 and summerville won 2 1 and we can have no complaints with the results because we cant seem to take our chances in front of goal.
congratulations to star on their promotion to the premier only academic now. the only quedtion is who will join them. between corbally herbertstown and summerville i think. tho summerville and herbertstown are both hard to beat at home i would still go for corbally apparently they have the easiest run in.
oh ya any fixtures for the weekend for div 1A
S'ville Vs Balla
H'town Vs Croom
C'davin Vs Abbey
Star Vs Shannon

Star Rovers run in
(Currently on 25pts, require 26pts more to be crowned Champions, or 25 to be sure of promotion, 9wins from 12 will do nicely)
Home) Wembley, Croom, Shannon, Abbey, Dines,
Away) Shannon, Dines, Herbertstown, Caherdavin, Balla, Coonagh, Corbally
