The latest info I have from a reliable source is that Steve Sampson of the L.A. Galaxy is being lined up. He just won the MLS Cup with the Galaxy and has previously managed the U.S team and got them to the World Cup. The F.A.I also want to leverage Sampson for the purposes of recruitment of 2nd and 3rd generation Irish in the U.S - the F.A.I feel they have lost out on some real good prospects over the past couple of years. I heard that Kevin "Woolhead" Keegan had a visit from a few of the FAI lads and Packie Bonner a few days ago. I dont really have an opinion on him other than i dont think he is a quality international manager but looks like Ireland will be left with some old has-been or some kid that couldnt manage a conversation never mind a team so is he the best out of the bunch
