Richardson reflects on emotional night
Cork City manager Damien Richardson expressed his pride in the achievement of his players in lifting the eircom League crown on Friday night – but also paid tribute to a Derry City side which pushed his team to new heights in 2005.
Cork claimed the win they needed to pip Derry with a 2-0 victory over the Candystripes at a heaving Turners Cross. The win brought a first league crown in Richardson’s football career, and while he was happy to put that record straight, he instead concentrated on the performances of his players – and Derry’s – this year.
