    Cork City manager Damien Richardson insists his side’s season is already a success after Monday night’s victory over Shamrock Rovers at Dalymount Park.The 2-0 victory saw the Leesiders return to the top of the eircom League Premier Division table, one point clear of Derry City with two games remaining.

    And while the battle for the title is likely to go right down to Friday week’s final day clash with the Candystripes at Turners Cross, Richardson is happy that the initial benchmark for success has been met.

    The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

    The season is not a success unless we win the league imo. This season has been put down as our season for the last three years.... we've waited long enough and we can't throw it away now. C'mon City!
