still have a good feeling about martin o'neill and 40-1 is good odds for one of the few decent candidates who isnt managing any club at the moment.

Caller to Radio 5 phone-in: There are too many foreign players in the league.
Mark Lawrenson: Why do you think that is?
Caller: Because there are a lot of them.
LOL That would have been funny.Originally Posted by tricky_colour

I was thinking that. I was all for an immediate replacement when Kerr was let go, if nothing else it would have given the impression that the FAI knew what they were doing. But after waiting so long I'd prefer to wait a while longer to see what happens... who gets the Hearts director of football job; who's the first to get the english premiership boot etc etc.Originally Posted by Tuff Paddy

I don't expect an appointment before Jan and it will be a decent one, I have a feeling Delaney may actually be competent from things I have heard which would be a major step forward.

Just seen Brian Kerr getting out of his car at Merrion Square. Has me wondering what he's up to since there's only the FAI, government buildings and a load of offices up there. Who knows, he's probably off to Grafton street and went for the easiest place to get parking.![]()

The game has moved on from the last time Venables was a decent manager (about a decade ago). If were talking ex-England managers I'd rather have Taylor (though I wouldnt be that happy about him either).
What about Wim Jansen, Bernd Schuster or Co Adriansee (who looks like he might leave Porto by the end of the season) ?
He is probably returning the only perk that went with the job, the car. I hope he left the tank emptyOriginally Posted by eirebhoy
There is a casino up there maybe he will put lots of money on the next ireland manager. I really would love to see him get a Premierhip job or a high profile job in the 1st Division. I think he deserves a good pay day.
