Just with regard to the Rovers red cards against City, they can both be justified. If you watched the highlights you'd see that. I'm not saying that I wanted them to be sent off, but I can see why the referee made his decision.

If I was a Rovers fan, I'd be more worried about Roddy Collins' conspiracy against the club.
Let's make something clear. The FAIlure do not care about any club and that includes shels.

The 2 red cards cannot be justified. Both players were not on yellows and their challenges were more clumsy and late than vicious. Doyle should have been sent off though.

Lastly there are no conspiracies in this league, in sport, in life. People who talk about conspiracies are narrow minded, paranoid, pathetic and without a doubt need to get out more.

An elbow to the face and a late tackle from behind are justification for dismissal, as far as I know.

Conspiracies?? Hands up who seriously believes that the FAI is capable of organising anything that complicated? Not a chance!

'''yeah the FAI have done soooooo much for us over the years.
allowing milltown to be sold without saying boo, appointing satan to the head of the FAI and making him honourary life president, taking 8 points off us in an attempt to relegate us when they had no power to despite the fact that we told them about the problem in the first place.

exactly what have the FAI supposed to have done for Rovers?

or are you just spouting sh.ite for the sake of it?'''

no not spouting, the fact that you exist at all is proof of the fai, letting you away with things, youve spent money on players, mostly bad ones for years instead of concentrating on getting a ground, going round with a begging bowl, even we offered you a ground this year, you got akeeper from usa last season and got a visa for him and you had no money... basically you havent been chucked out because of the so called 'where would the league be without rovers', well its doing ok at the moment at the top without you....well your time mybe up, unfortunately finn harps are so crap you will stay up even by a play off. 8pts deduction!!!! you got let off lightly..

Utter nonsense. What exactly have they let us away with? We've spent money on players? Who hasn't?! Check your clubs wage bill. As has been pointed out they went out of their way to kill us back in the day.

For the umpteenth time our old incompetent board got taxpayers money for the stadium and instead put it in players pockets.

The reason we weren't chucked out is because the league would have been lopsided so we were deducted 8 points instead.

So yes you are spouting and stirring.

as NY says, we did nothing every other club in the league has done, spend money they dont have on players.
us bringing in an american player proves the FAI bend over for us?
you are on a loser here and you know it, no club in this league has as much baggage with the FAI as us, and we are still in the league due to the fans and no-one else.
we got off lightly for what? if the last board had given the FAI the correct info we would have gotten the licence with ease. we should have insisted on a full audit of all the licence applications, that would have been fun!
i wonder do you actually believe any of this guff or is this a wind up?

there's been many boards since 1986 or whenever you left glenmalure, but they all done the same thing....you cant keep blaming orignal setup...you shouldve been deducted / chucked out years ago then you would be in a better position now....anyway
neither of us will back down so......best of luck friday

Has to be a wind up surely. If we had been chucked out years ago then we would be in a better position now? That's classic.

Anyway congrats on your result last night

You fail to note that your own club, amongst others, haven't exactly covered themselves in glory financially either, and would be out of the league, if it weren't for a couple of local Abramoviches rescuing you in the nick of time. So you're hardly fit to lecture our club on how it conducts it's business.

Yeah, I think it's a bit rich, other clubs shouting for points to be deducted from Rovers. It's not like the FAI/eircom League are run efficiently.

How would it benefit the league to have Rovers removed and replaced by some regional club, with no tradition and even less support?

i know what you mean, and i know we were on the brink as well, and it wont last forever, but we were punished about 5yrs ago and had to hand in 105k in security in case we went belly up again, dont think anyone else had to do that.
i just think that money was spent unwisely for glory on players over the 2o years and shouldve been concentrated on ground. we came last in the 1sty division 7 years ago and played yong players and low wages to clear our debt, pats have done it, i just think rovers could have done it years ago ...up from the ashes, grow the roses of success.
nyhoop .. thanks for the congrats
rovertillidie.....we have had about 6 different boards in 10+years, the last 2 have been ambitious with the money behind it, others spent unwisely....

Cheques in Drogheda used to bounce more than Pamela
    Andersons Knockers
    Then they stopped bouncing!
But only because she had implants and
The players they still didnt get paid

Imagine all clubs that are a couple of hundred grand it debt got the threat the drogs got a few years ago!! Drogs were unfairly picked on there and wouldve been kicked out of the league only for ourr moneymen!

We'd our moneymen to bail us out when a couple of clubs in the league kicked us when we were down, thankfully rovers had their fans to bail them out - fair play and good luck with it.

Mandrake, you're beginnig to sound like those 'great' derry fans now . Don't kick a club when they're down (especially when your club was in similar trouble itself a few years ago) .

How could that constitute time wasting by the keeper? If anything the ballboy should have been booked.
Ah, but did you hear what Packie Holden said to the poor unfortunate ballboy 5 minutes into the game. Quote "Thanks, but don't give me the ball back so quickly the next time". I heard it and so did many around me. After that we had to let a roar at the ballboy to hurry him up, but all he was doing was following Packie's strict instructions so he took his time.
So don't blame the messenger or in this case the ballboy.

But the booking was in the second half so it was at the other end of the ground and therefore a different ballboy.

He probably had a word with the other ballboy as well. In any event he was timewasting from the minute crowley scored the penalty (1st minute). The booking was as a result of a culmination of timewasting up to that point. His chat to the ballboy gave us all a laugh anyway.

Yeah, should have been booked earlier. Don't like to see teams timewaste to that extent - the timewasting of all the other players got Kenny sent off when he didn't have a clue what was going on. If the players hadn't been timewasting up to that incident, he probably wouldn't have got the first card.
