Jimmy Greene has appointed captain supreme Conor Frawley as his new assistant. Frawley saved Athlone from having to apply for re-election this year, with a superb header along the ground against Cobh Ramblers on the last day of the season, winning the game 2-1, forcing Cobh to re-apply along with Limerick.
The announcement was made at the Athlone Town Awards night held last night in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone.
The Under-21 Player of the Year Award went to Des Hope. The Senior Player of the Year Award went to Jan Fitzell, with Conor Frawley picking up the Supporters Club Player of the Year.
