Why they aren't played at neutral venues, is a mystery quite frankly.
But some of the teams involved in National Cup competitions have in the past complained about having to travel so much. So if there are home venues available in the semi-final, then it is just the luck of the draw that they have/had away games all the way to the Final.

Well mayo are playing their second away game and if they win on sunday will have to play away again. If Wexford League had beat Mayo, they would have to play away all 4 rounds of the competition.

For a semi final like this, this game should be played in a neutral venue like Longford or Athlone.

    Roll on Sunday

That's a killer alright. Fair play to the Mayo girls because Peamount are a very good team who have obviously played many more times together than a representative team such as Mayo League.

Good luck to Peamount in the final

Was at the game folks. Mayo better side early on but as the game wore on Peamount took over and in the end shaded it deservedly. Dundalk play next week and I am heading down for it.

Cara Cooke opened the scoring for Mayo on 30 minutes from a free kick.
Sinéad Tucker equalised for Peamount on 35 minutes a 30 yarder.
Leonie Cowley scored the winner for Peamount on 85 minutes a 40 yarder.

    Three quality goals incidentally.

peamount scored on 91 minutes. four minutes of injury time played.well done to them and all the best in final.mayo did not control midfield and as john said mayo didn't play as well as two weeks ago but did have their chances and fail to take them.i hope they stay together and are there again next year they should as they are a nice outfit with lots of support today from mayo.

a national league is great idea but mayo forming in to a club side is a bit sticky.but county teams in leagues sounds great.

There was a development plan some years ago by the W.F.A.I. and a National League was certainly part of that... watch this space

Should be an excellent game, last year's semi-final between the two sides in Turner's Cross was a very close one by all accounts.
