    Stoles to referee Cup final

    Ian Stokes has been named as referee for this year's FAI Carlsberg Challenge Cup final between Cork City and Drogheda United on Sunday, December 4th at Lansdowne Road.

    Stokes has been refereeing since 1992 and progressed to the eircom League panel in 1998. He has been on the FIFA list since 2004 and was appointed to the UEFA Talent programme in March 2005.

    He has refereed numerous UEFA games, including Champions League Qualifying games, Intertoto Under 17 and 19 tournaments and in September he refereed two World Cup Qualifying games.

    The Dubliner will be assisted by David Wogan and Kildare's John Peter Kelly. The fourth official will be Declan Hanney.

    Kick-off for the final is 3.15pm with the match to be shown live on RTÉ 2.
