Anyone at the match want to comment?. According to Ocean Fm, we dominated the first half, and they dominated the second

had we beat galway last wk it wuda been a ok result but i'm gettin nervous now. if we get 4pts from next 2 games i still think we'll win da league. same problem all season of actually puttin da ball in da net
"Even if the sun ceases to rise, Even if the sea ceases to flow, Even if the wind stops to blow, The name of Sligo Rovers will shine and shine forever like the morning, glinting star in the sky."
Well before tonight, I would have taken 4 points out of the possible six, so we got one tonight and if we can take all 3 in Kildare then we're still ok in my opinion. I dont care what Sean Connor says, the home game against Cobh is the decider![]()

Yep ! We really have to win in Kildare just to keep some sort of distance.
I think Cobh will win tonight which will put them a point ahead. That's why Kildare becomes a must win game as Cobh will happily come to the Showgrounds next Saturday and play for a point and after that they'll hope that our slide continues.
It's hard to pin point what's happening. We're not losing, but we ain't winning either. Just don't have the killer instinct it seems.
I also think there's a lack of pace in the side...Which one of the following would you say is the fastest ?
Foley,Feeney,O'Grady,McCann or Flannery. I'd say it took a bit of time to figure out your answer.
Speaking of pace- Still no sign of Stevie O'Donnell and i think Jason McCartney should also be an option depending on the opposition.
if we get 3 points vs kildare then a draw away with limerick won't be a bad result. the game on monday night is going to be a big test. a few goals & 3 points would boost the confidence of the squad ahead of a huge game against cobh. as always with the rovers, they don't make things easy on the nerves!
An early Michael McNamara goal and whirlwind first half performance looked to have sent Sligo Rovers on their way to all three points in Hogan Park last night, but the promotion contenders were pegged back by a determined Limerick FC for a share of the spoils in what was Rovers fourth consecutive league draw.
If God’s chosen people had been from Sligo rather than the Middle East, then the Old Testament would have been twice as long and with a lot more spills and thrills as they waited for the messiah that was winning promotion. Nobody ever said that it would be easy, but with five games remaining every stroke of the brush will count.
Rovers were looking for four points from the two weekend games (Monday night they face the trip to Kildare) and in the end-up the point reflected the balance of play on the night, but the visitors will surely rue their failure to make their first half superiority count.
From the kick-off, Rovers intent was clear. A barrage of early corners eventually took their toll on the home side as Michael McNamara gave Sligo the lead from a Kupono Low corner.
And it could so easily have been more as the bit o’red dominated for long periods, counter-attacking with venom as Kudozovic rediscovered his most menacing form down the right. Faz was involved at every turn creating openings in turn for Foley and Flannery, as well as O’Grady, whose header went narrowly wide. Carlos Alvarez, in for the suspended Paul McTiernan was very lively, but the league leaders couldn’t capitalise on their possession.
The second half was a different story, the flip-side of the first, with Limerick coming in to the game with a bang on fifty minutes when Barrett’s head connected with a McGrath free from the right to grab the equaliser.
Rovers were on the back foot, but the defence stood firm despite efforts from Dunne, Jones and the ever dangerous Robbie Kelleher.
The result puts Rovers two points to the good of second-placed Cobh. In order to stay there, wins on Monday night in Newbridge and crucially on Saturday night against the Cork men are vital. And then maybe we can think about the second coming.
Team:
John O’Hara, Raffael Cretaro, Kupono Low, Michael McNamara, Liam Burns, Conor O’Grady, Ciaran Foley (Steve Feeney), Fahrudin Kudozovic, Sean Flannery, Carlos Alvarez (Paul Brown), Tim McCann
