    Smile Where we are now

A lot of posts after the sligo game were very negative, for different reasons which have already been dealt with on different threads, but not one real mention of the way limerick played and the obvious progression we are making both on and off the field.
The match itself was a joy to watch especially in the second half and i feel we were very unlucky not to come away with a win,we played as a team and you could really see great potential for this team.Noc is given a lot of grief when the team plays badly<some deserved>,but i feel he deserves credit for the way the team played friday night and i hope it continues.
As for the club itself i think it has learned a lot from the year gone by and i do feel we are not yet ready for the prem.and another year building up proper structures and a fan base will help us no end when we WILL get promoted

    Totally agree

    I agree with you.
Think we have progressed more than anybody in the Eircom.
    Considering the posistion last year..
However the Lads slagging the team off are more entitled to an opinion than me as i know they go week in and ultimily they pay all the wages.
I live in the UK so i rely on their comments for a fans view. However i am surprised that they havnt taken to Drew and NOC as much as you would expect given that we are still in with a chance (Small chance may i add).

There's no doubt we've made progress this year but then that wouldn't be hard, would it? Our earlier season form was excellent and there was real hope of making it up, but our main problem has been inconsistancy. Indeed it's been the main problem for most teams in this division. We've dropped too many points now to make the play-offs I think but with the way things could go you never know. I could get slated for saying this but I would prefer if we stay in the first division for next season. I just couldn't see us surviving in the premier. In fact whichever team(s) do go up I just can't see them staying up and will probably come straight back down. It would be better to build on what we have in order to strenghten the squad so that when we do get promoted we have a much better chance of staying up.

Lads ye're living in cuckoo land if you think this club is ready to join the premier. Progress yes, but as Kerry Blue rightly pointed out, the only way was up this season. IMO, Kilkenny City have progressed just as much on the pitch this season, Sligo and Cobh have progressed even more. Aside from the obvious lack of quality in key areas throughout the team, and our route one style of play, there are glaring problems at the club off the pitch. These have/are being dealt with in another thread so there's no point in repeating them here. Another year of building? How about a year of getting our act together? Otherwise that fan base ain't getting any bigger.
