Well not really, he only signed for us before the Cork Home game which was in june (he is only with us 4 months), he has made 3 sub apperances for the 1st team but has mainly been involved with the U21's. We only offered him a contract until the end of the season when he signed, which was fair enough as he had never been with a league of ireland club before.

Still if he goes on to make it we will be kicking ourselves surely if we thought he was of a decent enough standard we should have tied him down but hey i'm only a fan sure i suppose it's nothing new the same happened with Gary Dempsey though we did actually let him go which made it worse.

yep i hear what your saying alright, of course we will be kicking ourselves if he does go on to make it, thats a chance all irish clubs have to take thou. From what ive seen of him in the 21's he is a very decant player, good prospect but not sure if he's that good. But i wish him all the best and hope he does make it.

Sharks are as tough as those football fans who take their shirts off during games in England in January, only more intelligent.

He was given a chance, he signed for us and less than a week later he made his debut Vs. Cork, made 2 other apperances as well, Daz and Foxy were playing in the middle of the park at that stage and no matter how talanted the young lad is he was never going to start ahead of 2 senior players like that

As i said Daz and Foxy were in the middle with Collie and O'brien (had also been just signed) also fighting for a place. The more senior players were always going to get there game ahead of a young and very inxperienced player.

Well thats true i suppose ! probably did'nt want to take the risk thou, points on the board are far more important than 1 players progress.

Yeah played most games for the U21's, very good for them. Has a great nak of just ghosting past players, wins a lot of free kicks by being fouled.

Didnt think he was that good anyway. Looked well off the pace and was only a sub for U-21s by end of season. Surprised he's at Reading. Plenty of other 21s are better (W Tyrrell etc)

Would we not get compensation considering he's only about 18?

but does he not have to be at the club for a certian period of his development, like 1/2 years or something, he's only been with us for 4 months, i dont think we would get anything

So much for my view. They obviously saw what I didn't!
Another young player gone. What about the ones who are "out" of U-21 age group?

Told some players such as Willie Murphy, Ross Zambra & Peter McGee have re-signed. Any more - and who else is leaving?

But he was'nt really, in the 3 sub games he played he was bullied off the nearly every single time, physically not able for thr eL Premier, but preformed very very well for our U21 set up, the reason why he was picked up, they knew about him for a long time anyway and was recomended to Reading by the same person who recomended Kevin Doyle..............

Maybe he was just killing time signing a short term contract with us though i myself thought he was bullied easily in the games he played though spotting a player for the future surely can't be judged on his physical ability at such a young age. In many ways though it could turn out that we will lose out just like Cork did with Doyle.
