    Question marks

Just an observation: Since we switched to 3.5 I've been having a whale of a time clicking New Posts and editing dodgy threads titles inline. And every single day I edit at least three or four threads with titles like this:

This is the thread title ?
I.E. with a space before the question mark. Not just one person either, lots of people do it. It's very peculiar.

Anyway, back to making bizarre yet boring observations...

Ahh ... that'll be me i'd say .... just kinda psyching people up for the answer with a question in the title .... that is unless i actually answer it with another question but thats a whole different matter altogether !!
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

It's not the question I'm talking about, it's the putting a space before it. Hello?

I have to say I find that space before the ? quite irritating myself and have noticed elsewhere...I think some people must think that it is proper punctuation...

I'm a spelling and grammar nazi but I try to keep it toned down on the Internet, because if you so much as open your mouth about it, the person you try to correct instantly morphs into a dyslexic, and scores of Team Dyslexia members come to their side to support them in their hour of need. That isn't to say there aren't dyslexics out there, I'm sure there are, but I'm pretty sure a majority of these people are just covering up their laziness and/or stupidity.

The ones that annoy me, most, are gross overuse of, punctuation; wrongly placed punctuation ,particularly when the space is to the left of the mark; paragraphs that go on forever (I just can't read them); ALL CAPS (most everyone on Foot.ie is aware of this one); Sentences With All The Words Capitalised (the sheer idiocy of this astounds me, it's actually a lot of work); and commonly misspelled words. The word "rediculous" grates on my nerves like a bitch.

It's anal I know, but is it really that much work?

EDIT: I only use the capital D at the start of a sentence stu. And I try to avoid that if possible. Sad eh?

    Idiocy?

That is my one thing with my handwriting - I tend to do that....

Words that annoy me are ones again like 'definately'...as I'm a mod elsewhere more often than not (i.e. when I can be bothered) I will go and edit the post properly...

Yup, idiocy. Have I spelt it wrong or summat? If not, I say idiocy because it probably takes close to twice as long to type a sentence like that. Only an idiot would do it.

That is my one thing with my handwriting - I tend to do that....
Ah, handwriting is different. My handwriting was always pretty bad - I had to do remedial writing in primary school with one of those books with extra lines - and it's probably worse these days because I do it so little. But I only write notes to myself, so it doesn't matter.

My signature's just a squiggle and a stroke too, but that's because I used to be a storeman, and had to sign rakes of delivery notes and dockets. The longer you're a storeman, the closer your sig gets to a straight line.

Words that annoy me are ones again like 'definately'
I used to have trouble with that meself. I still have to think about some words, like "independent", which I always thought had an A in it for some reason. Google's a boon for that though, just copy and paste and Google'll correct you nine times out of ten.

Pronounciation can be funny too, like when you hear a word on the telly that you've only ever seen in a book, and realise that you've been pronouncing it wrong in your head all that time. I was mispronouncing "detritus" for years in my head.

...as I'm a mod elsewhere more often than not (i.e. when I can be bothered) I will go and edit the post properly...
I don't like doing that except for thread titles for some strange reason. Probably because there's so many posts on Foot.ie at this stage it's just not worth starting. I reckon I see less than 10-20% of posts on Foot.ie at this stage.

If you type the whole message with the caps lock on, the board changes it to caps at the start of each word for some reason.

Edit: Doesn't work with a quote above it seemingly.

I Never Noticed That. I Thought It Only Happened With The Title. Otherwise How Could Those Asswipes That Type In All Caps Get Away With It All The Time?

Mmmm, must be a new feature. Me likes, but me'd prefer if it did it properly.

EDIT: Yup, it now applies to posts too. Spotted Schumi.
