Supporters Club Meeting - 25th October

Just to let everyone who wasn't there know:

    New SC Committee are:
    Damien O'Neill - Chairperson
    Darragh Collopy - Treasurer
    Thomas Luddy - PRO

    Secretary Position still open.

It was decided to sponsor the club 50% of our current bank balance (approx E1000).

We were invited to a "meeting" on Thursday with Danny Drew, NOC, and a number of players to "resolve the difficulties existing between the players and the SC." Questions had to be submitted the day before.

Due to the restrictive conditions on the meeting and the fact that there are no issues between the SC and the players it was decided that we didn't need the meeting. The SC does not represent the majority of fans and were not responsible for outside morons abusing players - the players have the SC's full backing.

Kieran Judge was there from the club and was very good to deal with. Hopefully his professionalism and eagerness to work together can be followed through on by the club during the next year.

    Good meeting overall.

the meeting set up sounds dodgy alright but i think you should have had the meeting anyway.

you could have questioned NOC on why certain players - who are undoubtably better than what he has now - were left on the sidelines and ultimately left the club. you could also have asked him why he didnt sign more experienced players. you could have asked why 2 of our last 4 signings have yet to get near the first team.

you could have found out what nolan was thinking and if he thinks he is trying hard enough on the pitch. you could explinaed to him that encourgament or askign a fella to get stuck in is not giving him stick.

you could have questioned danny about alot of things also ie the scumbags incident, an update ont he stolen merch, the cutbacks, the lease etc.,

plenty more that could have been asked.
    you gowl!

there are no issues between the SC and the players ... the players have the SC's full backing.
A good decision not to hold the meeting. The agenda was obviously being set for the SC and from the quote above it would seem the club is only willing to discuss certain issues with the SC, and not others. By saying the meeting would resolve difficulties with players it is implying it would not resolve difficulties with managers and administrators. Unless the meeting was open agenda then the SC really is right not to go ahead. The SC must be independent of the club. Also, it is important (as it is a key role of the SC) that anything discussed at a meeting between SC officials and club can be communicated to the membership of SC.
