If your in city centre the 16 and 16A bus go out that direction.

    On foot ...,
    - from O'Connell St, walk up North Fredrick Street
(past Cassidys Hotel and Garden of Remembrance)
    - Turn right, onto Dorset Street and keep going straight on.
    - This leads straight onto Drumcondra Road, keep going straight ahead ...
    - On the way you should pass pubs like (cant remember which order!)
Kavanaghs, Caufields, The Temple Bar, The Big Tree, Red Parrot, McGraths,
Quinns, Kennedys, Fagans, Cat & Cage ...
    - After all that (you'll also pass Drumcondra train station just before Quinns Pub and a Tesco just after Fagans, before Cat & Cage)

    - Whitehall is just past all that, past the Gardai station on your left hand side.
    Near the Ivy House pub

Yep, on O'Connell Street - along by Bus Aras - a block down from GPO walking north (away from River). On a Saturday evening bus will take 10-15 minutes. Ask the driver to let you out at Whitehall.

    Don't walk - its a bit of a hike - walking I'd say 40 minutes easy.

O'Connell St's a bit off Bus Aras me thinks, and if you take a wrong turn at BusAras you could easily end up in Sherriff St...not where u wanna be!!

My advice is if you're getting the train to Heuston, get the luas to middle abbey street, and the bus stops are just around the corner to the left on O'Connell St.Or ask the Bus driver to let you off at Heuston Station and get the luas also. Its 5mins to Middle Abbey St.

Doh! Of course. I'm wrong. I meant the Dublin Bus office. The rest is right. Sorry about that.

    And welcome back Joe.
