I can never remember one ref from another but thought Hanc0ck was very good for fridays semi final. He booked players for any off the ball incidents which meant nothing worse started...

Nominations should be dominated by both Cities as no one else done anything.

Forwards tend to get these so farren might be favourite.

Barry Murphy has to win young player of the year! Rovers would be relegated by now if it wasn't for his interventions.

Senior player of the year, I'd probably go for Hutton. Referees don't deserve awards. The best referee is one you don't notice and if you don't notice him how can you reward him? One that certainly shouldn't win it though is Frisk, because he thinks the Eircom League revolves around him!

There could be a few surprises here, Whilst Hutton, Farren and O'Callaghan immediately spring to mind there are a few dark horses. Gareth Farrelly, Barry Murphy, Paddy McCourt, Kevin McHugh , Dan Murray and Danny Muphy may well get a good few votes.
Killian Brennan, Barry Murphy,Darren Quigley, Roy O'Donovan, Joe Gamble and Barry Molloy all in there for the young player.
As for the first division John O'Hara ,Kieran O'Reilly and Kupuno Low

From a referees point of view,im sure there is a lot of satisfaction gained from knowing that you have earned the respect from the players that they work with on a weekly basis. Weather an 'award' should be given for it is a question for another day.Collina received a 'best referee in the world' award 5years running and that was voted for by players.
At the risk of repeating previous posts, we have some very good officials in this country. The fact that supporters see the same faces regularly throughout the season is unfortunate...familiarity breaths contempt!!

In a week where professional officials in england came in for some scathing criticism let's reflect on the fact that an Eircom League referee officiated at 2 World Cup Qualifiers in the past month, a situation unheard of regarding officials from 'bigger' countries, and an Eircom League referee took charge of a UEFA Cup group match last week, the first time in many years that an irish referee has officiated at a relatively advanced stage of european club football.
We live in a country where we are only too quick to criticise our own. Credit where its due where warranted.
Try an keep the smart alec replies to a minimum
