But surely you know that the eL is independently run, and that when the FAI take it over, none of this nonsense will happen because the FAI will ensure everything runs perfectly smoothly...

Thought my text updates were very slow (couldn't make the game), so rang at about 9:45 to see what the final score was only to be told there was half an hour left! Legged it in just in time to catch Waterford's winner. Waterford haven't beaten us since the start of the 2003 season either - six or seven games all told.

Yeah, thats what education gets you, someday maybe sligo will see the benefits of it, doubtful though.

Seeing as neither of you can spell a simple word like that's, I don't think either is in a position to slag the other!

One of the lads rang at 8.15 and was told UCD hadn't had a kick of the ball yet!

Looking at the scoring, I'd say we still hadn't had a kick at 8:45!

absolute disgrace. i mean what sort of league are we when we can't even organise referees for our matches. Whoever was in charge should be sacked straight away with no ifs or buts. This kind of thing is what stopss people from coming to our league

Don't you mean hadn't Since we're being gramatically correct etc.

There was a German lad at the game who was writing up a report for (I think) his college paper about the football league here. He found the whole thing absolutely hilarious. Not only was there no ref, there were no programs or fanzines on sale (the last thing being my fault but if I'd known the kick off was delayed I'd have had time!).

The main stand has not even been fully put back together since the league cup final.

Yes, i was at it and it was one of the most exciting games I've seen recently. I know the result may colour my judgement a little, but I thought it was a good game of football overall. If all that happened in a Sunderland v West Brom game, we'd never hear the end of it. It should have been the proverbial "great advertisement for the league" instead of a chance for the league to be made a laughing stock.

Fair enough, I thought it was one of the worst games I've seen in ages, not just because of the result either.

If you'd been following Waterford all season though, it'd be like watching Brazil now.

Nothing gramatically incorrect about my sentence, since we're being pedantic. Factual inaccuracies, maybe, but no grammatical errors.

Incidentally, it seeme it wasn't the league who screwed up - it was (drum roll) the FAI, who organise the refereeing side of things. Quite why the eL are apologising if that's the case is beyond me. It's the FAI who should be grovelling, but instead they're ignoring anything ever happened.
