Athlone Town 0-2 Cobh Ramblers
Cobh Ramblers took all three points against ten man Athlone town to continue their push for promotion.

It was no surprise when Kieran O’Reilly opened the scoring on 36 minutes as it was his 17th goal of the season for the Cork men.

It was the end result of an excellent passing movement which also involved Mark Clifford, Dave Warren and Robert Brosnan.

Athlone nearly equalised shortly afterwards when Anthony Flood, who earlier saw his shot rebound off a post, was just off target.

The frustration continued for Flood as he saw red ten minutes into the second half and Cobh used their numerical advantage well as Davin O’Neill secured the points with a second goal 17 minutes from time.
