No not at all. I'm not fussed either way on Glasgow football. It's just one of the biggest local rivalries and often a hot topic on this site. Same thing with the Manchester clubs or Liverpool clubs or wherever.

Anyway, if I've misunderstood your point what was your "hypocracy" point then?

Excuse me dredging up an old post. I didn't notice the date on it.

More to the point. Why does a rivalry in Glasgow automatically equate to sectarianism with you?

I'll be supporting Serbia and the black mountain as my girlfriend was born in Belgrade. I'll also be supporting Japan as I like their energy and style and am a big fan of Nakamura.

Some of the disgusting behaviour of "Ireland" fans at Brian Kerr's first game was more than enough to back up the sectarian connection for me.

I said that if you supported an English club, then it was hypocritical to actively support any rival of England.
Not that you should support England.
Irish people love their anti-English rhetoric but equally love to jump on a plane to Liverpool, Manchester or London.

Not at all, spend your money on what you wish.

By your own admission you don't know what 'Hun' means, yet you are happy to label the people that use the term as sectarian?

It looks as though you let the media direct your opinions on this matter, coupled with the use of a term you don't know the meaning of.

No doubt there are idiots who support or purport to support Celtic as there are with all clubs. I find your general bashing of the club, and its supporters offensive when clearly you have had little dealings with them.

I guess we shouldn't go down this road (again) as your views are fairly entrenched. So anyway back on track.

    - Poland, Japan will get my support as they have some Celtic Players.
    - Any underdog will get my support (Ivory Coast for one)
    - England won't get my support.

Nah mate, my brother lives in Glasgow so I get first hand reports of what goes on. What a lame little argument you have by trying to imply that celtic fans calling rangers fans huns is the full extent of what goes on.

I think if we were to examine the reason why so many Irish people are celtic "fans", we'd see that it has nothing at all to do with the football.

I'm not sorry for offending celtic fans because I find the entire notion of why Irish people support the club offensive in itself.

I refuse to waste any further energy on this pointless debate.

That’s what I thought your point was about and I stand by mine. english clubs and the english national team are barely connected, they’re entirely different things - one representing a country/nation and the other a town/group of supporters in that town. I don’t see anything at all hypocritical about supporting Charlton Athletic and wanting the english football team to lose.

I didn't imply that this was the full extent to the rivalry of Celtic & Rangers. I made a comment on a direct quote from you.

Correctamundo. That is the beauty of what Celtic represents, its more than just a football club, something I am extremly proud of.

Reckon you spent too long in Reading, with the middle English lot.
There's an arrogance and attitude in your tongue that's certaintly not Cork!

By the way, this is very offensive and a very personal attack.
It's the kind of thing that is commonly heard from Celtic "supporters."
Another reason to resent them and everything they stand for.

If my English mates slag me off, they get double it back. That's banter and it's what supporting football is all about.

I wore my colours all throughout World Cup 2002 and got nothing but words of encouragemnet and support from everyone. Watched Ireland games on the BBC and heard nothing demeaning said about Ireland.

I see where you're coming from given where you live. But the point is people here "supporting" english clubs and then wanting the english national team to lose IS hypocritical.

I wouldnt agree about their clubs and national team being barely connected. Premier league clubs maybe but if you look at the amount of flags they bring to games the majority of them are lower league clubs.

Here's an interesting article from the Mail On Sunday. Embarrassingly drury is Irish

Parading of "IRA TROPHY" Puts Pressure on Celtic

    Mail on Sunday

"celtic football club was yesterday facing fresh controversy over alleged links between its fans and the IRA.

The club was recently forced to condemn secterianism after two players were filmed at a supporters event in ireland, during which chants of sinn fein and IRA could be heard.

Now the club itself is at the centre of the storm after agreeing to allow a football trophy named after an IRA intelligence chief to be paraded around celtic park despite the clubs insistence that it `condems` support for paramilitary orginisatioms.

All-Ireland champions tyrone have been allowed to take the Sam Maguire cup on a lap of honour of the ground before the spl match with dundee utd on jan 28.

However, sam maguire was head of IRA operations in london around the time of the easter rising in 1916.

It has been suggested he ordered th IRA murder of conservitve mp sir henry wilson in june 1922.

Maguire is a revered figure in Republican circles, having sworn in Micheal Collins to the Irish Republican Brotherhood in 1909.

The disclosure will come as a major embarrassment for celtic who outlined they`re stance on the IRa only las wednesday."

Sent off a very snotty email to them. Sick of their anti Irish propaganda.

We’ll have to beg to differ. I don’t see anything hypocritical about it. Going to a lot of lower league games I’ve come across quite a few fans who would die for their local side but aren’t into international football (probably because it rarely involves players they know). But anyway I can’t see many Irish fans “supporting” Macclesfield or Rochdale so its the premier league that we’re really talking about. Liverpool vs Man Utd has now very little to do with the cities of Liverpool and Manchester. It’s about a club called Liverpool (with their foreign players, 100 year history and connections with Ireland) playing a club called Man Utd (with their foreign players, 100 year history and connections with Ireland). They’ll probably have as many people interested in Scandinavia as they will in either city.

That Paul Drury is indeed an @sskissing ******. Not the first time this W*** B*** has come out with cojones like this.

I wonder does he feel the same about Americans naming the city and the state of Washington after someone who his paymasters and hero's once called a terrorist, as well as that person who Thatcher called a terrorist in South Africa who turned up at Galway uni to get a degree just before he opened the special Olympics.
Its crazy to see people be what society wants them to be but not me.
