Imagine referring to the Irish job as a poisoned chalice in comparison to England. Ha!

The calibre of the candidates for the job (should it become available) will, in a way, show how good or bad we are as a squad or how much potential said squad has.

I was just up in our canteen here trying to make sense of it all, and a few of the suit brigade sat down at the table beside me. Sure enough waiting to hear the tripe the match becomes conversation. The first thing said was "God , wasn't Clinton Morrison awful. Like it's not as if you send a mongrel to Krups!" which was followed by " You have to feel for Kerr, he's a very honourable , proud and genuine man, but he just wasn't up for it. Even the President felt for him, what with a hug and a kiss before the game."

Said it all really. We wanted him to succeed but deep down did we really believe it was going to happen?

In relation to the hounding of the manager by the press i'd say we're on a par.

Neither needs to happen. The FAI just wont renew his contract, which expires at the end of the qualifying campaign, i.e. last night.

Meilleurs espoirs pour vous en Allemagne, il faut absolument pas que les anglais gagneront là bas.
Thank you!! But I heard somewhere Owen saying England had the best quality squad for the world cup with Brazil of course...what do you think about that ?

Thumbs down Kerr to go!!!and bring O'Shea with him

Kerr messed up our chances for this world cup.People can blame the players but he made stupid decisions that cost Ireland a draw in Tel-aviv.Playin Finnan(who made cyrpus look like Brazil) instead of andy reid was unbelievable.and gettin his team to sit back after they took the lead he was lookin for trouble.Last night all the irish supporters should have been celebrating a place in the world cup FINALS but bad decisions and a luckluster effort by numerous players cost us 2 wins against Isreal.

yep-players have no confidence in him, that'd be the main reason alright. we're thin on the ground but a manager the players want will make a difference.

I think the first choice is whether Kerr should stay or go & then worry about who can get to replace.

I've mixed throughts on what should happen as I don't see creditable candidates for the position. I've no doubt delaney would like Martin O'Neill.

Go ask my Swiss. Andy Reid is a lazy fcuking ba$tard. He is great on the ball but he doesn't track back. Thats why he wasn't played on the left. Because we would have been weak defensively if he'd played there instead of KK.

Taking off Andy reid and Robbie Keane and leaving on Matt Holland and Kevin Kilbane when you need a goal is utter madness

Don't forget Reid has been played out of position in every game for Ireland and still looks a cut above most. He was the only player capable of doing a simple thing like switching the God damn play once in a while. Keane and Duff out and he's still stuck on the right wing - am I missing something here? Surely he should have been 1st choice centre mid, 2nd choice left wing. He was slightly out of sorts last night but mainly due to him being the only one with a creative bone in his body, while the rest looked clueless with their aimless chips into the Swiss backline(who were surely the tallest defence ever to appear at lansdowne), who barely broke sweat. Honestly was there any fcuking gameplan, what exactly did they work on in training?

he would have done perfectly well on the left.Him on the left, kilbane and holland in the center and stevo reid on the right.Playin o'shea was a **** up.Every time andy made a run down the line he either cut back or gave it to carr and couldn get one decent delivery in.kerr cocked up.o'shea didn deserve to start.
