Bohemians have denied rumours that they have had their bank account frozen due to a finanical crisis at the club.

The club is currently heavily in debt and recently lost striker Dominic Foley who had his contract cancelled because a large bonus payment had not been paid.

However, club secretary Gerry Cuffe has claimed that rumours that their bank account had been frozen are completely untrue. “We are at a delicate stage of negotiations with the Revenue, but our accounts have certainly been frozen,” stressed Cuffe.

And €2million in total debt? And the stand at the shopping centre isn't being built, so that end will be just a wall.

I assume they've been let build up the debt because Dalyer is worth so much, and did so the same as every other club - through poor financial management.

Didn't the Finance Committee and/or Finance Director resign a couple of years ago? Guess we know why now....

However, I'm sure it's all Stephen Kenny's/ Shoddy's fault...

Well well well what the dogs on the street have known for a while is finally in the public arena.

While nobody likes to see another EL club with massive debts it could not happen to a nicer bunch considering their attitude towards us

What is being done to sort it out though ..... in fairness to Pats, they cut their cloth and made all players go part-time and curbed the spending ... if thats what needs to be done then someone has to make the call.

The sooner that eL clubs start operating on a sound financial footing the better ... there are lessons being learnt needlessly.

pats did not go part time - they always had a mix of part time and full time players depending on the players circumstances. Clubs will always overextend themselves in pursuit of success - its the nature of football which isnt a real business especially in Ireland.
