great trip. but id think we'd need a squad of about 50 to deal with injuries after four games against them.
All insults aside what would everyone think? Personally I think twould be great, good derby, handy trip and by the looks of their 21's a handy 12 points a year (Sorry couldn't resist)

they have very good facilities down at Mounthawk Park buts thats only because the FAI funded their project and had the great idea of ridding the county of its GAA.
with this new Genisis report it could be possible to fit them in somewhere..
however, it would be a handy 12pts for the Lims!
Agreed but the pitch is toss and needs to be bulldozed! It would be by far the worst pitch in loi if and when they are accepted in.
You've become very anti-Kerry lately Gael, I'm not sure whether I dare show my face at Hogan Park again. As regards the pitch at Mounthawk, I don't think it's much worse than St. Colman's Park. Anyway there is a thread going about a team from Kerry joining the eL. Check it out here:

and you can voice your anti-Kerry opinion again.

This percieved anti-Kerry vibe with Limerick fans just isn't true, I for one would love to have them in the league, but ya if they did join and continued to whinge, hack, cry, and moan in the manner perfected by their 21's and a portion of their fans then yes soon they will find their way to that special place in my heart next to Craptown and Scumrock Rovers
But as you can see Kerry People I'm more than willing to draw a line under the whole thing and start again
Unlike my cohorts I would welcome Kerry into the eL with open arms. No strings attached. There'd be a couple of minor things to do first (relay the road leading into the ground and things like that) but they're simple enough things. Do Kerry actually want in though?
The ball is round and has many surprises.
Dont think so. IMO they should have entered 3yrs ago with Shane Guthrie, Stevie, Sugrue, Dennehy (sunderland), Mark fitzgerald, Gazza (Arsenal) they would have done well and prob got promoted. Not kidding!!
Attendances are poor there, There is little co-operation between junior clubs and the KDL setup. Money is not there either to invest. Would love to see them do it but I Would not hold my breath
All the best

Well lads, I'll keep my ear to the ground to see what happens over the coming months. I agree with my fellow Kerryman that I can't see a KDL team joining next season. Maybe in a couple of years. I know that attendances for the u-21's weren't great but I've a feeling that maybe they might improve if eL football was on offer. Even if it was the First Division.

I think it would be great If Kerry joined the LOI.We could do with more teams from these parts of Ireland

Another issue in all this is that the eL is hardly likely to brin in just one team - resulting in an 11 team first division. There would need to be two teasm ready and willing to come on board. This presumes a team is not going to be replaced.

I don't see the problem with that.Originally Posted by LFC in Exile

40 games would be a lot though.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

I honestly think they'd find another team if it came down to it to come in with Kerry . There's quite a few sides in the U-21 league alone who might fancy making the step up even if U.L./Aisling and Sligo/Leitrim League might not boast the same appeal as our friends from The Kingdom. One of the Mullingar pair (or a new merged club?), Mayo League perhaps?
You can't judge Kerry on the U-21 attendances either. Our own are around the same mark on a good day and Cork City don't draw any more even though they don't charge for admission. A fully fledged eircom League team would be a much bigger draw.
There were also rumours that they were gonna replace us in the league before the start of last season. Whatever about a concrete date of admission I think that the topic is definitely being discussed seriously down there.

Ideally Kerry would be great in name, but realistically I think they'd struggle big time and would be just another Kilkenny City, minus the nice ground. I don't think the EL First Division holds enough appeal for such a staunch GAA county. I still believe that the only way domestic football is viable in this country is to merge with the IL and form an All-Ireland Super League. Only then will the likes of Kerry and Mayo be a serious proposition as the appeal of an All-Ireland league would be a lot better.
