We could see a bit of a merry go round, like old days. Kilduff will be linked with Derry, Doherty could be a target for someone, Bradley will probably move on if the league isnt won but only for an offer abroad, O'Donnell I'd say will be looking to go it alone again, Healy to Cobh....., would Sligo go another year of relegation fear under Russell, could Higgins be lured away from NIFL back to LoI say to Waterford, Lynch to Coleraine.

If Derry do pull the trigger, who's up next? Probably go out of the league rather than just throw another wedge at a new project ie not Kilduff. I dont think he's being overrated to not ask the question tbh.
Waterford can dip in to the UK market but will they wait until leagues finish in the UK.
SK was in this conversation not so long ago so things can change quickly.
Keith Long is bound to still want a go again, if Kilduff were to be pinched he's someone you could see at Dundalk again.

Would managers feel a bit threatened by having a bunch of these guys at clubs, ready to step in as interim coaches, take advantage of free salary for a period. Rogers back at Harps would be great craic but he'll probably be given the slot at Oriel.

Healy's a strange one, in that the performances and results have certainly been underwhelming, but even one win would see a significant jump up the table, so the knives will remain sheathed for now, at least.

There's a sliding door moment that I remember from 2 years ago (and that my memory has possibly fudged the details on in order to make it more compelling) where Ruaidhri Higgins was under pressure at Derry, in a bad run with no sign of turning it around. Stephen Kenny was available, having left the Ireland set up (and having turned down other club jobs. Did that happen? Offers from abroad? Or Bohs, maybe?). The feeling of other Derry fans I'd spoken to was that Kenny was mostly interested in coaching Derry and was holding out for it. This was probably nonsense, but Derry loves a rumour.

Derry went to Jon Daly's St Pats, who weren't awful. Derry won convincingly (this also might not have happened, it might well have been a scrappy, narrow win), gained confidence and went on a bit of a run, winning their next four or five, saving Higgins' job before again perfectly executing their well-rehearsed mid-season collapse. St Pats went on a bit of a spiral, the board made a decision, got rid of Daly and appointed Kenny, who had presumably decided that Derry wasn't worth waiting for.

Again, foggy memory is probably playing a large role in this, but I sometimes wonder what would have happened if Derry had lost that night in Dalymount. Kenny would be in charge at the Brandywell. Derry would be champions. Probably of Ireland at least, possibly Europe.

Its a real Dundalk thing to do, sack a manager due to league position on the back of not being able to score so go and appoint a manager that is struggled to get a team attacking and scoring (after appointing someone who wasnt medically fit to manage, after appointing someone who didnt have a licence to coach give or take a manger or so).
