Cork are already 5 clear of Bray in second and 6 clear of Athlone in 3rd and UCD a distant 4th already 9 behind, so a win for Cork will leave probably Bray as the only chalenge to be overcome.
I might tip out to see Bray given its a week off for the Premier Division.
there is two points between UCD in 4th and Treaty in 10th it kind of looks like the first division is full of equally matched teams with the exception of Cork.
I wonder whats the biggest margin of victory in Div 1 history?.

Longford started last weekedn in 10th and the win brought them up to 4th , can they back it up against Harps??

Terrible loss away to Bray on the final day of last season. After waiting a long time for a league win, will be hoping for two on the bounce but Bray understandably favourites.
Athlone likely to be brought back to the pack. All other games involve sides only separated by a point or level on points.
The Premier Division are taking a break already - the lazy feckers!

We won it by a record 25 points in 2023, beating Limerick’s record of a 23 point margin in 2016.

Good to see First Division driving on with regular Friday night football. FAI wanted them to take a break for internationals. First Division clubs want to keep going.

Jesus Cobh are a poor side. UCD looked prolific against them.

I like the idea of it. Gives the 1st Division a bit more focus when not up against the PD.

Good game in the Carlisle Grounds. Both teams were going for the win. Poor goal by Kerry to concede, heading the ball down after a corner to a man in acres of space to smash home the winner for Bray. 2 bad goals conceded by Kerry on the night. They need to cut that out based on the experience signed. Sort that sloppiness coupled with some of their better play tonight as they'll do ok. Bray were good at playing the ball into the corner to wind down the clock, avoiding any kitchen sink being thrown at them.

Dunno what's happened Cobh in the last few months. They were looking like good bets for promotion last year - then sacked the manager before the playoffs and have been in a tailspin since then

Heading down to Longford this evening for my 2nd away trip of 2026, can't say I'm expecting the game to be entertaining but a few beers and bring a bit of noise I'll make the most of it

People were giving out about the World Cup playoff during the week resulting in a one off away leg semi final. In First Division they play each other 4 times - 2 home and 2 away. 2nd home to 5th and 3rd home to 4th in one off semi finals should be more palatable in First Division.
Kerry only have Cobh and Cork left to play in the first quarter. Watching Bray last night, I think they should finish in the top 3.

We were absolutely brutal last night, worst in years, to be fair we were missing 6 or 7 to injury but still an appalling display.

Big three points for Harps tonight. Considering we were missing four starting players, and had a bench filled with academy players, it's a really pleasing return.

Good away win for the Harps ,tbf to Groves he is doing a decent job at Longford given he hasnt a pot to **** in which is more than can be said for Treaty. An eventful game in Wexford 2 missed pens poorly taken,a goal that never was [from my vantage point looked well over line] 5 goals and yes the cbligatory woeful effort from a squad that looks lost,Wexford should have won this game comfortably by halftime, and by fulltime could have had 5/6 mainly due to the brilliant Jack Brady.......this Barrett crusade has been going on for years now and even those who were convinced and initially converted are now filled with apathy.

That was an absolutely tragic performance from Longford
