Cobh Ramblers 1-0 Kildare County
Robert Brosnan’s first half goal helped Cobh Ramblers to all three points against struggling Kildare County side at St Colman’s Park on Saturday night as the Cork men drew level on points with second-placed Dublin City.

With the Vikings and leaders Sligo meeting at the Showgrounds, Cobh needed a win to exploit any slip-up, and a draw in the north-west allowed Stephen Henderson’s side to close the gap on both the leading pair.

Brosnan has stepped up to the plate since a rib injury ruled out 14-goal top scorer Kieran O’Reilly last month.

He fired a vital goal in last week’s win over Limerick FC and was the hero once again here as his only goal downed the Thoroughbreds.

He got on the end of a Michael Mulconry cross to beat Tom Corley for the winner a minute before half-time.

Cobh are now level on points with Dublin City, although the Vikings remain second by virtue of a considerably better goal difference.
