That’s a great crowd. Can’t get my head around Galway’s crowds at all considering the 2 previous home games drew less than 2,000 people each game!

Last night was a "clubs night". Kids teams from around the county were invited. They basically filled the old stand along with their parents and coaches. We do these a couple of times a year now, the last few have been a great success. It's so important to get a win on night's like these too

I have to ask the question but are some clubs in the 1st Division including Season Tickets in their attendance figures? A few clubs seem to have higher attendances on FAI Connect then appear to be in the ground.

Must be. Beyond that I can't understand why you'd inflate it.

I know Harps are just counting what's scanned on the night. If we were counting season tickets we'd have official attendances of 1,500-2,000 a game as we have a massive amount of kids season tickets.

Shels v Dundalk was 4,674, was that one of the biggest this season for Shels with the new / new stand re-opened, noticed it wasn't full but more or less, Riverside looked jammed.

Any idea on the away support figure? Tolka is always a favourite for DFC fans, Cat & Cage another fav spot !

Finally, any Shels know why there is the need to block off the first 3 or 4 rows for away fans, can be hard to see the goal line from that area depending on where you are standing. Overall though have to say the place looks great, pitch was in great nick too.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).

I think the Harps ones look fine Nigel and what you see is what is published.

Brilliant crowd, I had Galway down to finish bottom !! Caulfield doing a great job there, they will be nowhere near any relegation worries.

    .
Bigger home Shhels crowds v Pats,Shams and Bohs.
Nearly 1,000 more at the Bohs game.
550 odd away fans for Dundalk is impressive given the average Dundalk home games

It's less than an hour from Dundalk to Tolka Park. You'd be disappointed at them taking an awful lot less, if we're being honest.

Ballybough end looked as full as was allowed, could maybe squeeze a few more in but didnt look like too many. What is the capacity for that away section. I though the 'seat' kills were a bit too much, but if not filling the section then no harm to make it look fuller. The perimeter fence there is pretty hight even for someone at 7ft, it would be a climb over and a drop to the pitch so as Oriel says with the way the fans are well back from the pitch you wouldnt see the goal line, although that could be the case if not at the perimeter or at the very back of the terrace. When it looks like an away section is sold out, due to sections closed off, it looks better than a bigger crowd scattered around a whole pretty big terrace area. If its by design then fair play to Shels for maximising the look of the ground, on TV its important. Its why Oriel lacks for live games, terracing behind the town goal would be busy looking when there is circa 4k, stand, and terracing each side would also look full. A Mono type stand behind the Carrick goal and there'd be plenty to work with from an aesthetic on TV perspective. Pitch and lights adding to it now. Id love to know how much some terraced concreting in place of a grass bank would be, even today could it break 6 figures?? Do it in sections if need be.

Cost of concrete has gone through the roof as well. Think Harps looked into a couple of steps at the closed off River end in Finn Park a few years back, and even then it just wasn't worth the cost. It'll have risen significantly since.
