Parents of two long time friends lost their house in a fire recently in Limerick. Story about it in the local paper here

I grew up right next door to Noel and Margaret and their two daughters, Nicola and Harriet. They moved to this house when I was about 20
Both are in their 70s and are retired, but Noel drives a bus for a school run in the mornings and afternoons for a local coach company

Harriet's baby daughter was asleep in the house when he came home and the smoke alarm was triggered by a faulty heater in the child's room. He ran in, grabbed the child, and the three of them got out in time.
Noel and the child suffered some smoke inhalation, but are both expected to be fine
