Our glaring weakness is we have a non existent midfield. Borden is a huge disappointment. Healy is not good enough and Lee is a defender.

When we get a lead our backs have none to give an out ball to so inevitably lump it back long. And noone who can win a 50/50 or hold the ball up and start a move to string a few passes together to take the pressure off.

It creates non stop pressure meaning the damn will eventually burst.

Central mid definitely a big problem, I would add full backs / wing backs to that category also - not athletic enough at this level: Healy will have to work with the hand he has dealt himself now, perhaps given our direct approach a 4-3-3 formation may be best option now - will suit Kelliher and Murphy (can’t fault the lads work rate, and definitely one of the better signings). Something is going to have change either way.

On another note, the club might need to do a city on it and put a fiver in for all game in shortly to get more interest, inject a bit of life into the terraces and team. Based on crowd on Monday it pays for itself I’d say. Note - Athlone also did it and got over 1k for their derby with Longford (normally would attract 6-700).

Is Kerry FC proving an impossible job for manager Colin Healy?

"The most damning statistic? Kerry have fewer points at stage of the season, than they did at the same time last year.

This after the club have invested in a high-profile manager, and gave him the investment to totally revamp the squad in his image (sacrificing a good number of academy players along the way). Simply put, that’s not good enough. If he’s feeling the heat, he deserves to."

Some of the players were absolutely furious after the third goal conceded from the corner on Monday. The player out jumped should be dropped. Cantwell as captain has not been inspirational on the pitch and his own individual game has been poor. Hakkinen should be dropped.
