I can understand Sligo letting him go , if you hang on and he runs out of contract or even to where he could sign a pre contract they are risking a lot.
We sold Gavin Bazunu to city for (500k i think if i remember right) but ended up getting best part of 5 million all in.
Plus yopu are only ever one Bad injury away from things going pear shaped as well

He’s in contract until the end of 2027 so they could’ve held out for longer to be fair, the risk of him signing a pre-contract would only come into play in 18 months time. I’m seeing on Twitter that the up front fee is as low as 400k!

I’m aware it’s great to be in a position that we’re calling 400k low these days but with him still having 2 years left on his contract and the Melia and Ozhiavuna fees that feels very low for a player of Elding’s ability

Centre back Senan Mullen joins on a season long loan from Torino, can’t say I’m too familiar with him, but o donnell worked with him at Dundalk.

Adam Brennan linked with a move from UCD to Rovers. We've lost a lot of players over the past year (including the two guys to Hull, both of whom are already involved with their first-team squad). There's some good players coming through, but we may be a bit too raw this year to really challenge for promotion. Suspect it'll be Cork and Bray leading the way this year.

Don't know much about him, I've just looked and Manotova are second last and he's only made the match day squad thee times as an unused sub since early November. I know he's young and it's a higher level but no game time is worrying

That is probably the reason why he has gone to Bohs - he clearly needs game time. Now he had clear potential and that's why Torino wanted him - but it is hard to know how much he has developed since going to Italy. We'll find out soon enough.

What are your thoughts on Adam Brennan? Looks like he had a good goal/assist record last season?
22 leagues and 26 cups and....well....none of you will ever catch up if we're being honest.

Very good player. Similar mould to Hugh Parker, who's now on the bench for Hull and linked with a move to a League One side to get experience.

Presume we'll get a tiny slice of that initial fee as training compensation for his stint with us. I can't remember how many seasons he was with us but I don't think it was more than two.

Cheers stu. Good to hear. Don't suppose he can play wingback?

Pats have signed ex Leeds striker Ryan Edmondson from Central Coast Mariners in Australia. Won a treble with them a couple of seasons ago scoring a brace and getting MOTM in the final but his goal return throughout his career is poor, averaging a goal every 7 odd games.

On a positive note he is a footballer that has signed for the club which is a big plus considering there literally isn’t enough fit senior outfield players to bring on 5 subs in the opening game of the season next week. Simon Power is out for a few months, Sean Hoare out injured too, Max Mata due to get a scan to reveal the duration of his injury spell, while Aidan Keena went off injured in a friendly today and was wearing a protective boot after the match. Be doing well to see a top 7 finish at this rate…

His stats are horrendous. Serious bang of desperation off this one - Kenny has made some balls of this. I dont see us spending too many weeks in the top half of the table this year and we'll be looking over our shoulder for most of it.

Youd have to hope hi fathers name is Adrian, so much potential for headlines and puns.

There wasnt huge fuss made when he was leaving. Recent young lads going or will go you were caught between being glad of the income but weakening the team. Mullen left uncontracted pretty much unnoticed bar by those who watched that years youths that were fiercely unlucky not to have been in Europe. But that doesnt meant he isnt up to LoI anc ould be a good signing.

By the time you can actually post a rumour on this site, the deal has already gone through and they’ve played a handful of games.

Ollie Horgan is definitely smiling away watching all these exotic signings at Harps!

Interestingly that’s now 6 current Portuguese players in the LOI. Don’t think many would’ve had Portugal to become the new Estonia in LOI transfer terms
