If he did get a call and had a chance of bowing out after beng in a WC squad?! Coleman's desire and leadership made such a difference, maybe we should rate McCleans sheer drive when he was with Ireland. Moving back to Derry would be fitting for a player who loves his home club and not in it for a final payday if iy were ever to happen.
How many players do we have starting at LB / LWB playing at Championship level??
Would seem strangne to ignore him

A 4th LOI club in 3 seasons for him, to go with his 4 English clubs in the 2 years before that. Nailing his journeyman colours to the mast nice and early in his career for a lad that’s only just turned 22

In fairness to Cann lots of young English players are out on a dizzying amount of loan spells and here in LOI his spell with Drogheda was a loan and Dundalk was a short-term contract with a sinking ship so quite easy for a young UK player to get tangled up with a journeyman label. It's not a surprise he might tick Waterford's box with being English and having two seasons of LOI experience including his most recent spell with a team that finished 2nd
The Leinster Senior League needs a strong Bohemians

That may be true about English young lads, but whatever the reason for the journey, the journey has still been taken
