Such a waste of a talent.
Funnily enough, he was wanted by derry but flatly turned down the offer.
He has a talent for sure, but a few rocks in his head ( who doesn't eh!), so we'll see what comes of it. Bradley demonstrated last season that he won't put up with his nonsense if he decides to act up, and he has a year left on his contract.
If Mandriou wasn't out long term I wonder if he would have been welcomed back so warmly.

Yeah id say its a case of a bit of both, no one prepared to pay all his wages and the club not seeing much point in having to partially pay him to play for someone else when Mandroiu is out.
Either way ill be glad to see him back and hopefully he will play well considering he only has one year left and needs a new contract from someone at the end of the season.
I hope he takes the high road rather than turning into one of these guys jumping around crap clubs for a payday

He's under contract so has to return in January. Whether he'll stay is another matter but Danny M's injury has probably changed things. Would much prefer to spend that money elsewhere but as always will trust Bradley to make the correct decisions.

Im not sure anyone is celebrating it. The best managers change with the times. JC still thinks its August 1990. We dont have 6'6" Hickey this year for flickons and holdup play so expect a season of aerial bombardment via uselessly lumped balls to nobody in particular. But at least it's beginning to look like we might actually be able to field a team with 11 bodies by the start of the season.

    Rob Slevin signs at Derry:

Curious why Keith Gillespie was there? He's in one of the photos but isn't mentioned anywhere in the article. Does he own an agency or something?

Dan McDonnell reporting that Bohs Rovers and Shels looking at Mulraney with suggestion that Pats will let him go. I'd be wary of signing him, loads of ability, but disappeared too often in games, and looked like he wasn't
fit last time we played Pats in Dalymount.

We were delighted to have him back for half a season on loan a couple of years ago. Overall though in that loan spell he was pretty poor, started off well but by the end no one was overly disappointed when he headed back to NZ.

Yeah, granted Pats have gradually beaten the optimism out of me but can't say I'm too moved by signing Mata. He's taking Melia's place in the team but definitely isn't an improvement on him, and from what I've seen I don’t think he's a better player than Keena either (if he can stay fit anyway). On the flip side he's a bit of a target man, gets a few headers etc and for a lot of last season we played a style of football with a lot of ineffective crosses, so he may be a remedy to that.

The news today of Mulraney potentially being moved on was the more encouraging for me.

Yeah wont buy into any hype this offseason. We need to do in on the pitch then ill get excited. Totally agree that the Mulraney news was defiantly the bigger story today.
