Waterford will be in the play off final for the 4th time in 5 years. We pushed hard for the win yesterday especially in 2nd half but Galway defended well and held on for the draw they needed.
Padraig Amond wins the golden boot after his goal yesterday which is a good achievement at his age and in a team that finished 2nd bottom.

Those Galway fans laughing at our impending relegation earlier in the season aren't so cherpy this morning.

21st consecutive season in the Premier next season, only Bohs and Pats are longer. Plus no play offs in that time. An achievement of sorts I guess.

If anything ye deserve great credit. This one did feel like it was done and dusted for ye early on at several points, but the last 2-3 months have been incredible in terms of results and momentum.

To be fair, I think most are just relieved this season is over. I'd be a bit embarrassed if our fans were chirpy and wildly celebrating staying up like Sligo fans. This has turned out to be a poor season for us, and staying up isn't something that should be celebrated.

We've won enough trophies over the years to know what celebrating feels like. And that wasnt celebrating, more a release after a long season.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

You wouldn't think it with the reactions after yesterday's game, suppose differing opinions on what a good season is at both clubs. For us staying up being the absolute bare minimum that would be acceptable and not something to be going mad over. Congrats Sligo.

Interesting last round of games, I kind of called it that Waterford would end up in play off, huge shift by Sligo beating Rovers away, then Bohs with that big win over Drogs to seal 4th.

The most unusual hoping for Rovers to win for the first time ever, then again Cork C won't care about any of this, can't see it myself, but you never know, Dundalk were relegated week before 2002 cup final, and up against Bohs under SK going for the double, we won 2-1, then again a dark 7 years or so followed on.

Not sure what's going on at Pats, with such a strong finish to 2024 I was expecting them to be top 3 min this year, Kelleher won't be happy with 5th and no Europe that's for sure.

Finally, Drogs are in the unfortunate spot of the only team ever to have missed out on Europe twice in the same season, but seems they can have no complaints with that performance yesterday.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).

To be fair we were something like 13 points ahead of Sligo or something. We're hardly going to be jumping for joy at just about staying up.

I'd say, given the season of turbulence Galway have had, the loss of Ollie, and the loss of their leading scorer, it's been ultimately a successful end to the season in the circumstances.

I wouldn't. We should've done a lot better this season, but at least survival has been secured and onto the next one.

Dreadful season. A lot of changes are required in the off season.

Don’t really get all the fellas digging up tweets from April when we were rubbish but maybe I just don’t understand bands

Great second half to the season for us with the exception of the Kerry game

It’s a good squad though , are many of them two year deals? Would mean keeping them.
Is Kenny under pressure there now?pats have always been patient enough.
