    Club Ownership thread

Thought I’d start a new thread for this given we’re now seeing multiple changes in club ownership every season at this point.

Bray statement on their new owners:

    https://www.braywanderersfc.ie/news/...to-consortium/

Bray Wanderers FC are pleased to announce the sale of the club to a consortium led by Malachy Burke, JB Gough, and David Goldstein. The transaction marks a new chapter for the club as it looks to strengthen its on-field performance, deepen community engagement, and invest in long term growth. “We are honoured to take on the responsibility of leading Bray Wanderers into its next chapter,” said Malachy Burke. “This club holds a special place in the hearts of its management, staff, volunteers, players and supporters, and we will work tirelessly to ensure that it remains a source of pride for the community.”
The outgoing ownership group expressed confidence in Bray’s new leadership and their vision for the club’s future. “We are delighted to pass the torch to Malachy, JB and David, whose ambition for the club aligns perfectly with the vision we have strived to create over the last several years,” said Tony Richardson. “We believe the club is in excellent hands.”
Under Richardson’s stewardship, Bray made notable strides in upgrading facilities, enhancing the matchday experience, and elevating on-pitch performance. Malachy Burke emphasized that the new ownership group is committed to building on this momentum and is thrilled that Tony will continue to be involved going forward as a partner.
Over time, the club’s willingness to field young talented players has been at the core of its mission with many success stories in recent years. This commitment to youth has been further highlighted this year with numerous young players making an impact for the club and playing pivotal roles.
Bray Wanderers Football Club has always been a place to witness the future - and that future has never looked brighter.

Meanwhile Shels have changed the ownership structure yesterday too

    https://shelbournefc.ie/shelbourne-f...nt-investment/

Shelbourne Football Club is delighted to confirm a significant investment from existing shareholders Mickey O’Rourke, Cathal Doyle and Neil Doyle.Completed before last week’s triumph in Windsor Park, this investment signals continued financial commitment to the club’s on and off field progress and is part of an overall three year funding plan.
Tomas Quinn CEO added “Our shareholders continue to demonstrate their commitment to developing the foundations of long term and sustained success. This investment will allow us to continue our focus on developing facilities both at our training ground and at Tolka Park alongside the elevation of our football departments both at Academy and Senior Levels. We will also continue to develop our commercial and core business operations backed by this significant investment. I’m excited to continue our work together at this exciting time for the club”
Technical Director Luke Byrne also comment “I’m delighted to see this continued investment into the club, and it highlights the passion our shareholders have for seeing the club develop and elevate both on and off the pitch. I look forward to continuing to work closely with them as we continue to build on our success to date.”
A better breakdown of what it actually means for them is in Dan McDonnell’s article below but to summarise, Mickey O'Rourke who owned 60% of the club is putting in 750k and has lowered the % he owns to 49%, while Neil and Cathal Doyle who owned 20% of the club now own 41% of it and are putting in 2.25m. The remaining 10% is owned by a small group of Irish investors and ex directors etc

Had heard nothing about the Bray one till this morning. Seems it kind of went under the radar. I have no idea what this means for the club. Is it viewed as a positive by Bray fans?
