Be a fairly fitting tribute to Ollie if Harps made the playoffs and got promoted...
Itll probably be at the expense of his last employer Galway if it happens

Don't think the club is ready for the Premier on or off the field, there is good foundations being laid at present, promotion will bring a heap of extra cost and spotlight on the club. Another couple of season being in a first division playoff battle keeping building on youth development and hopefully see some kinda progress on the new stadium

While I'd love to see us promoted, I agree with Neish. We can't afford to go up really.

It brings added income, but also a much added expenditure. I'd be content to win the cup and lose the playoff final though...

TBH: I'd be happy with getting one playoff game at home. Is the first division over two legs or a once off game?

I think the semis are two-legged, not that Kerry will have to worry about such matters!

So Wikipedia confirms, with the final just over one leg.

Rovers 9 ahead with a game in hand. The chasing pack have a maximum of 21 points to play for. Game over man!

At 1 nil drogs should have scored forward had onlybpico to beat after rounding mcginty and pico kept it out... deserved the win easily but you can see why drogs pick up points all the time.

What was the crowd tonight? Looked very poor from watching abit of it on the tele

I know Sunday evening not great compared to Friday etc but are some Rovers fans just getting fed up at this stage
Pats and Bohs seem to be able to attract more fans these days

I didn't see anything on TV but seen a photo (attached to a report) of an empty stand, Shams sick of winning?

was an alright crowd for a school night against Drogs.
There is an element of Rovers fans picking and choosing these days, money has to be spread around

The only people sick of Rovers winning are non Rovers fans, and it's oh so beautiful to watch 🤩

3216 according to FAI conect, felt like more butive no reason to doubt it .... like i said people are picking and choosing matches to go to,
we have had 6 European matches so far and 6 more to go minimum including expensive away trips. 12 games is like playing an extra 3rd of our normal season
Lot of local hard pressed people attend Rovers matches

I also feel that a lot of our new support over the last few years take the recent success for granted and just expect us to show up and beat Drogs so skip it.......
Either way its dissapointing but on the pther hand 3000 was a good crowd a few years ago.

Anyway ive decided im investing my money in the Prague trip, been to Iceland and Athens is to far.

I think if Derry and Bohs draw on 12th September, Rovers can win the league at home to Bohs on 26th September. That assumes Rovers beat Cork and Waterford (both away) and Bohs beat Waterford at home on 19th September. That set of results would put Rovers on 65 points and Bohs' max from there would be 63.

Derry could then still finish on 65 if they win their last 6 which includes a game against Rovers. If Derry also draw to Shels on 19th their max is 63.

Winning it at home to Bohs would be amazing given the horror show of each of the three derbies so far.

Athens trip is ,by a considerable distance, the least expensive of the 3. Flight's to Prague have gone off the deep end since Saturday
