Was thinking the same as he slipped there and gave them the chance that Kelleher stopped

But it's who comes in that's any better than worries me

His colleague, Stu. Manning. Doherty as a LWB or left of a back three is disastrous.

Nobody. But we could maybe stop it getting embarrassing. There is no way back here. The game is gone, and by extension the World Cup has gone with it.

So half time changes to try and make something out of this?

Doherty off. Manning back to left back. Johnston onto the wing.

Szmodics off, Ogbene or McAteer onto the other wing.

I'd get Molumby into the centre of midfield to add a bit of fight if he had even been picked in the squad.

We're missing Parrott hugely in terms of the bit of trickery he'd give us up top.

The whole logic of sacking Kenny was that his team was leaking goals like sieve, and that we needed a realist in charge. Well, look now...

Manning and Azaz the pick of the bunch. Nice work from Ev there to give himself a shot on goal but services to him is awful. Heads weren’t right going onto the pitch and we didn’t even give ourselves a fair shot. That opening 20/25 mins was about as bad as we’ve seen.

They've actually played well for the last 15-20 mins.. but the two goal start was a disaster

For some reason, for a really good player, Collins always looks crap for Ireland

And while hes playing well, Jake O Brien is no winger

Jake O'Brien should be centreback, for Ireland and for Everton. Ideally he should have stayed on the continent.

    Yeah, maybe so.

Lot of boos at halftime. Understandable given the performance, yet very early in a manager's reign for that all the same. Bit of it earlier in the half too

Looking at Callum Styles swinging in the corner for the second - Molumby's teammate at WBA. I get it they've two Liverpool players, and one or two other decent players, but they've an awful lot of mundane players too. I can take losing the game but we're being outclassed here. That's a real worry.

Hungary have let up since the second obviously but they've had five big chances. We've had what - Ferguson's shot late in the half?

Abraham Lincoln has to go through a lot of generals before he got to Ulysses S. Grant. The idea that this fiasco is any sort of vindication of Stephen Kenny is nothing short of delusional.

really ponderous build up play too. There was a moment where the commentator goes: "Knight wants to take this free kick quickly..." And what he wanted to do was pass it backwards. Hard to see us winning the World Cup at this moment, tbh.

This entire evening has been an exercise in trying to be something we're not. Some ballbag singing English songs, and 11 ballbags trying to play Spanish football.

We'd be much better served get the rebs on (the very loud rebs) and getting the ball up to Ferguson in the way St Jack taught us to do it.

Your interpretation of my post is delusional, sir. I was not defending Kenny.
