Cobh Ramblers (H - FAI Cup)

Somewhat of a free hit for us tonight, as if we upset the odds, it means a first-ever Cup quarter-final, while defeat would merely be in line with expectations, given the Rams' League form. Barring an incredibly rapid recovery, Seánie McGrath will surely be as láthair this evening, while Ewan Lee is cup-tied and Daniel Okwute is suspended. Joe Adams will surely be called up to marshal midfield, with Kennedy Amechi presumably leading the line. Cobh's priority for the remainder of the season will undoubtedly be chasing down Dundalk in the title race, but we must still assume they'll be going full pelt and first choice in the Cup, so a tricky evening awaits. Hard to be very optimistic, but then again, it's exactly occasions like these where we've upended expectations already this season!

Hard to be optimistic about this one given missing a lot of players and current form over the last 6-7 weeks. One can only hope they give it a right go and keep it tight at the back. Cobh are a good side but we have been very competitive with them in the 3 games so far, especially the 2 away games.

Ticket sales look very slow for this which is a bit disappointing. a lot competing with it - Roses, Tralee derby in GAA club championship, return of premier league and probably most of all the lack of a novelty factor with Cobh (will end the season playing them 16 times in 3 years!!) hopefully a big walk up crowd comes on the night

Pity about the ticket sales. Im guessing a crowd of around 500 to 600 which seems around our average. I'm going for a 2 1 win to lift the doom.

I’m going with 2-1 also (always hoping)
Will go with 810 on the crowd prediction (based on stand at around 70% tickets sold now and Cobh bring 80-100).

Matthew Connor made a crucial save early in the second half. Comfortable after going 2-0 up. The second red making the final minutes more comfortable. Great to be in the hat for the quarter finals. History!

Great to see another team lose their head and get some red cards for once. In fairness to Cobh they did have a go after going a man and goal down. Frustrated by our tendency to sit back and not hold the ball better, but delighted with the win all the same.

520 is a Poor crowd - crowds were down everywhere based on league averages. Cup just does not seem to capture interest until later stages. To put into perspective only 450 were in Cobh for last years game, albeit a round earlier.

A cup run is exactly what a fledging club needs to gain interest around the county.

Great win. 2 fine goals. The atmosphere was great in the stand. The ultras never stopped either. On the match Cobh were starting to get on top in the second half but Healy made a good sub with Adams in midfield and going to a back 4.
Brosnan outstanding first half. Keeper very solid again bar a few wayward kicks. Thought Brookwell read the game well. Covered a few McQueen mistakes.
All in all great night for the club.
    Anyone know when draw is?

12:30pm on Tuesday is what they were saying on Radio Kerry. I'd like to see a home draw against a Premier Division club. Box office stuff like!
