We really really need two big strong centre backs who kick **** out of the opposition, every one of ours is either too soft too slow or useless.
Draw probably fair though , but both managers will be upset at the awful defending.
Given he didn’t go down, that means the contact wasn’t enough to make him go down.

Never enough contact to make him fall over.
DJT for Bohs v shels took two shoves in the back on his way through and stayed on his feet, that was a dive manufactured to get the defender at least a yellow and a free kick.
Ref is a gob****e for buying it, never even a free.
So let me get this straight, you wanted your teams striker to manufacture a foul yesterday, but when Melia does it today it’s ‘embarrasing’. That is some absolutely iconic double standards from you Dermo

Dreary is putting it far too mildly. One of the worst games of football I've seen in a while. And that's saying something considering some of the dross we've watched over recent years.
That match has made me wonder about Lynch.

Cork, for their part, aren't very good, but they did work hard and deserved the point.

We need a serious buck up of our ideas. Play anything like that next week against Drogs and we'll be a few goals down at half time.

I think he booked Mulroney after the goal for taking out his shin pad and showing it to the rovers fans. Baffling stuff from McGrath again.

I seen Mulraney asking for the fourth officials opinion on the booking. It seemed a bizarre card to get if that is the case. I just assumed that might have over done the celebrations in front of the Sligo Rovers fans.

Pretty sure it was that cause if you look at the clip he just runs off initially and celebrates with a couple of Pats players. Saw him doing that then but no one cared and was assuming it was for that.

I thought the at was a strange one as well at the time. His kids sit in that area of the stand just beside the away end so I was thinking maybe he’s got a picture of them on his shinguard so took the shinguard out in front of them when celebrating the goal.

After googling it though that surprisingly is a yellow card in the laws of the game.

Removing shinguards, even during a celebration, can be seen as delaying the restart of play or entering the field of play without permission, both of which are yellow card offenses

Think you are right… should be safely in playoff position… keep passing up opportunities… very irritating

Delighted with the draw in the end, especially with Juan Martín popping up again!
But Jesus, if we don't have that Temple brainfart, who knows how it may have played out. All in all, it served to underline a lot of the obvious deficiencies that we have with a couple of our stalwarts in defence. It also, wrote large the fact that Harry Wood and Keir McInroy are practically irreplaceable for us.

The red never looked like one in the moment and even less so watching it back. As I was about to say "looked lucky to get a free there" the ref had the card out.

If Sligo can take any solace from today's events it should be that they would have lost anyway, given this is the part of the season when we win every league game for the remainder of it.

Nice to see we've figured out how to get a clean sheet. Our first point on the board since the Autumn of 1588.

No no no, the problem wasn't tactics or team selection or anything like that. It was that the players ran out of ... bravery?

not hard to keep a clean sheet when your opponants dont have a single shot in the game

There was actual contact on DJT, Melia produced a beaut of a dying swan leap.

Rovers really coasting it now, nobody really putting any meaningful points on the board.
Unless pats go on another 9 game win streak , even then it’d take a hell of a collapse to lose it from here.
Euro place battle the last bit of drama it would seem.

Our next two home matches are at home to Shels and Drogs.
    Two of the euro chasers.
The same two weekends PAts are playing Derry and Drogs so a lot of things could change in next two weeks, Bohs have Sligo and Cork maybe an easier mini run.

We were dire against Galway but i suppose crdit to Galway for keeping us honest we didnt look interested and got a point which was thanks to McGinty

There absolutely was contact on Melia but that’s neither here nor there when it comes to your double standards. Again, the contact on DJT wasn’t enough to make him go down, so you wanted him to cheat by dropping to the ground to make the ref think the contact was enough to take him down, so that he’d award your team a penalty and the Shels defender a red card. Irony in the extreme Dermo.

At least Patrick McClean can take solace in the fact that he's taken the record for quickest overturned suspension!
